Dr. Michael Andrew Meyer, MD

He is very intelligent. He takes his time and seems truly concerned. He took the time to personally speak with my insurance company and even personally scheduled my MRI to make sure it got done because it wasn't getting done up to this point. He is cautious, diligent, honest, compassionate and thorough. You will likely wait for a very long time to see him for your appointment but it is only because he takes his time with his patients. He doesn't rush you out and he really listens. I read another comment on here where the girl said he just blamed it all on being in her head. I have extreme anxiety and he is aware of it and he does not treat me the way she described. He's a neurologist, of course he understands how the psychological aspect plays a part. You're in good hands with him. I highly recommend him.

Dr Meyers was the only doctor to get me out of pain that I experienced for years he's a great doctor highly recommend

I have been fortunate enough to know Dr. Meyer for many many years. He is truly a caring individual with a passion for medicine and a deep caring for his fellow man. It also helps that my mom has complete faith in him. He will always spend time with my mom and explain things at a level that works best for her. We are thankful for his time and insights.

Please use your best judgement when working with this doctor. I was a patient of Dr. Meyer's for a very long time, and despite the compassion and understanding he showed in the beginning, I unfortunately saw a different face towards the end. He spent a great deal of time on my case, however, when he disagreed with the other doctors that HE referred me to, Dr. Meyer became stubborn and downright difficult. I was inaccurately diagnosed more than once and stuck with him because he was always saying he had another test that would lead us to the right answer. 4 years later I wasn't any better, and not to mention broke and completely exhausted. I had no idea who the person I knew who was so knowledgable and patient could turn into someone completely different. He has the ability to gain your trust because he seems so honest and dependable.. what happened to the kind and decent doctor I met all those years ago?

I came in on a referral from another neurologist due to some physical neurological symptoms. As soon as he found out I had a mental health diagnosis, that's all he asked me about; although he is not a psychiatrist or in the psychology field. Side note: I have seen a psychiatrist to make sure none of my physical symptoms were psychosomatic and NOT ONE saw any symptoms of a somatic disorder. He continued to question me about a past relationship, that was not pleasant to say the least. Without asking time periods between my last bad relationship, my current very happy and stable relationship or any other information for that matter; he told me that my bad relationship was causing ALL of my physical symptoms, including loss of balance, some type of seizure or severe twitching of muscles, loss of strength and control of my muscles and the over activity of muscles in prior neurological testing. Once I started crying and asked him specifically, "So, you're saying this is all in my head?" He… responded, "Well, no you have physical symptoms but they are caused by the traumatic relationship[...]" I asked again, "So, this is all in my head, twitching, possible seizures, loss of balance all physical symptoms." Not wanting a discrimination lawsuit I assume, Well, no but yes in a way, was his PARAPHRASED response. There were no tests, no concern, no questions relating to my actual symptoms past finding out I have a mental health diagnosis. My symptoms of course have worsened and I must look for a new doctor to look at me to find out what is really going on. My advice, BEWARE. If you don't have any mental health issues, you're probably ok; no reason to discriminate against you. If you do, DO NOT TELL HIM unless absolutely necessary, if at all. He seemed almost sadistic, as if my crying and being distraught was what he wanted and was satisfied at that result. For god sakes, I said I may have been having seizures; I have had twitches that have injured myself; and there was no concern for my life. The making me cry and leaving me feeling as if I was not worthy of real care, seemed a bonus. What a blatant disregard for the Hippocratic Oath. I am obviously angry, but also saddened that our healthcare industry has sunk so low and our doctors seem to care more about their BMWs or what have you that human lives. It's sad and frustrating for those of us who really just want answers. Thank you.

well, first I really am very sorry to hear about your experience. I hope you are feeling better soon...However, I disagree with your opinions .especially the one about thinking he should retire. Other than that being a such absurd, and kind of rude, comment, from my experience of seeing him 25+ plus visits, i cant say enough about his medical knowledge and his incredibily ability to take the extra step with his patiens . I'd like for readers out there to weigh their options by making educated decisions. Dr. Meyer has obtained 3 board cerifications and is also a medical professor in Nuerology and Nuclear Medicine. I have been receiving treatment for almost a year due to a chronic condition. He's trustworthy, honest, and so very dedicated to helping his patients in any way he can.

The Dr. does not keep current on medicine and what treatments are now available. He did not know about any treatments currently available for people with autoimmune diseases. I went to see him about migraines and he wanted to treat with antidepressants and instead of trying to figure out the cause of the migraines....

Luckily, after 4 years of being diagnosed with cluster migraines, I found Dr. Meyer. From my very first visit with him, he took the time to answer any and all questions, and whats more - do what most doctor's dont have time for - actually listened to my answers. Dr. Meyer is constantly striving to help you, he's highly intelligent, and genuinly cared about my well being.
