Dr. Michael Jerome Michaels, MD

My first and only kidney stone experience was excruciating. I had 3 9mm stones in one kidney. One was on the move. The deal was that he was going to get the one on the move and evaluate the other two. Dr. Michaels was able to get all 3 in one surgery. Amazing. Recovery was quick and efficient. .

I saw him 2 yrs ago. Arrogant man. I had notes/questions for him in my hand. He said "sweetheart put your papers on the floor" - very professionally poor comment. He seemed to know what we was doing, and apparently had not time to waste with the congenial side of it. Needs improvement on his manner....

I’ve been seeing Dr. Michaels for years and he was the first one to dignois me with the correct condition. He and his staff are always pleasant and informative and more importantly companionate.

Dr. Michaels has always been a caring professional throughout my ordeal of dealing with prostate cancer. He has always shown concern for my health and well-being. I will always be thankful for his early diagnosis which I believe saved my life.

I'm not really sure how to convey what I experienced, but I'll try to nut-shell it by saying Dr. Michaels has a bad day every day, or, he needs to extremely work on his bedside manner. When he walked into the exam room it was straight to business; no how are you, beautiful day - or small talk. I felt like I was in his way before he could leave the office to hit the back 9 at the local golf club. He asked me 2 questions; after each of my responses - his response was one word 'stop'. He didn't delve into my condition at all, he barely scratched the surface in a topical manner, then said, this is your condition, you need this medication. When I started to ask questions, the look on his face was shocking - like how dare I waste his time with questions, let alone one! There are a couple more issues (if you can believe it) that occurred during my appt., but I'll politely leave them out. I believe you understand the dynamic that occurred. My 10 min appt. with Dr. Michaels is something… that I will not soon forget. It appears to be hit or miss with this Dr., so you have a 50/50 shot at a good visit, then again, you have a 50/50 shot on it being like mine and several others...

Totally non-professional egotist, self centered pretty boy. A definite disgrace to the Urology profession. Piss on him and I told him so on my way out of his office never to return again.

I'm not sure if it's because I'm in a wheelchair or what, but Dr. Michael's was NEVER personable with me. He NEVER took any time to get to know me or ask me real specific questions. His bedside manner is short of none. I felt like being in a quick revolving door in there. "Get her in and get her out." When I call to speak to him he never used my name when calling back. Again, not personable at all. Finally after almost a year I've decided to change doctors.
