Dr. Michael Joseph Michotek, MD

Cannot say enough good things about Dr Michotek. He is one of the smartest doctors I’ve ever met. He is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. In addition, he is very punctual, kind and compassionate. I would recommend him to anyone!

I found Dr. Michotek absolutely wonderful. I have seen a lot of Doctors in my 61 years, but he touched on things that my primary doctors have never informed me of. Personal, funny and smart....super caring and attentive. He really gave me food for thought about my health going forward . He didn't order all kinds of tests that were not needed and addressed the issues that I said in passing and he thought there was something to it. Great listener! It is really to bad that he is a traveling doctor and won't be on this island for long!

Nice person, not the best diagnostician. Incorrectly diagnosed me, and I had to repeat which wrist about 5 times (after he kept saying the incorrect one). He didn't want to order xray, even though my agonizing wrist pain had been ongoing for about 3 months. I had tried wearing a brace, taking NSAIDs, etc.... it was like he didn't know what to do almost. He wouldn't refer me to an ortho, wouldn't order an xray... told me to just keep taking IBU. I had to call back 2 weeks later to state that nothing had changed (as expected), and asked the Nurse to have him order an xray. At that point he finally did...but he ordered it incorrectly.... Luckily I had just seen a specialist, who ordered the CORRECT xrays... Nice guy, but just awkward, doesn't listen well, and just wants to give you the generic response to everything...even if it doesn't apply to your situation. And he didn't order the correct xrays (radiology tech even said he made a note in his order, saying he didn't know what… he was doing...)

I've seen a lot of doctors, and most barely look at you, while shoving a prescription at you and walking out the door. This doc does a full exam, pushes you to be proactive about your health, and cares about each patient. 99% of the time, he's on time, so I can forgive the few times I've had to wait because I know he will spend that extra time when he knows a person needs it. He is the most compassionate Doctor, who obviously loves his job.

I was a patient of Dr Michoteks back when he was in Lancaster NY. He was the most thorough and caring doctor I have ever seen and made sure he not only took care of my medical needs but always made sure I was okay emotionally also. He went over and beyond what my expectations were and I have never been able to find another doctor even close to what he was. Yes sometimes there was a wait in the waiting room for my appt but that was because he was taking the time with another patient to take care of them. I am a mom of three boys and back then I also worked and yes my time was valuable, but at the same time so is the persons life who is in the doctors examining room who is being checked out or treated for not feeling well. I would much rather wait for my turn to be seen than have a doctor rush through an appointment with someone and miss something that is wrong with them. I for one was one of those people who he spent time with and took care of to the best of his abilities which… were fantastic.I am currently ill and have been for months now. No one looks to find what is wrong other than the basic tests, which by the way is not making me better. I would give anything for Dr Michotek to be my doctor again to help me, to find what is wrong with me and to help me get better. I would love to continue to watch my children grow, play with my grandchildren and be there for all of the good things to come but at this point I dont feel that I will be having that oppurtunity. It is a very sad day when people complain about waiting to be seen by a doctor. If you were the one who needed that extra time in the examining room, wouldnt you want the doctor to spend that extra time with you finding out what is wrong with you or not explaining in our words what is wrong. One thing about Dr Michotek is I never once left that office without understanding fully what he was looking for, what he was diagnosing me with, what the side effects of the medications were and what I could and should expect next. I was very comfortable with him, he listened to me with everything I had to say and never once degraded me for my thoughts, my pains or even my life choices of staying where I was at that point in my life. I only can pray to find a doctor like him again in my life. I am truly lost without his care and he is very sadly missed by all of his old patients. It was devastating when he moved away from our area.

DO NOT MISS YOUR APPOINTMENT WITH THIS GUY!!! I was in an accident, on route to mine. Life got busy, didnt call back for over a year, as I had bigger problems then a rash that went away. Called a year later to schedule appointment and was told I had been flagged as a "no show" and that the doctor would no longer schedule me. No one asked why or wanted to hear my explanation, just a flat out "NO!" I am not much into seeing doctors, as you can see, but this is why. Its ALL about them. If THEY are inconvienanced they hold it against you, but they have NO problem with making 4 appointments for every 15 mins, knowing they can only see ONE or TWO in that time frame, making other people wait, and wait and wait. Ihave had doctors make appointments with me a month or two out, then call a week prior and ask to reschedule for such things as a vacation, etc. I have had doctors make me wait in waiting room for as much as 2 hrs before I over hear the receptionist say to someone on the phone that he… is at the hospitol on an emergency. Fine, but, let us know since we are sitting there for hours waiting. These are only a few of the reasons I hate to see doctors. There are some really good ones out there. Considerate, friendly and caring, but there are FAR too many like this guy and I wouldnt send my worst enemy to this guy, not after the way I was treated.
