Dr. Michael Patrick Morris, MD

Dr. Morris was and has always been extremely thorough and will do every test available to get answers. He is not a 'yes-man'. He will work through everything he can, to draw his on conclusions. He is very direct and blunt, with jo grey area or room for doubt. If he doesn't know or isnt sure, he WILL (and does) anything he can to get answers. He has a dry sense of humor, but we aren't there for a comedy show anyway... He is gentle, kind and very helpful. I trust him and feel that he is probably more concerned with getting down to the bottom of an issue than being super friendly. We have had Dr Morris as part of our team of physicians, going on 15 years. My daughter wouldn't be alive without his help. The nurse was very sweet and pleasant as well. And the front desk receptionist is wonderful!! We are always taken care of, and will never seen another GI physican.

Was everyone able to receive all signed documents? His nurses would not allow me to have a copy of the documents while she was in surgery prep. I find that very odd. Everything happened so quickly.

I am confused about the reviews I just read. I thought that Dr. Morris was extremely thorough and did every test available to get to the bottom of my 12 year old daughter's chronic condition. He was not overly friendly but he was gentle and kind and very helpful. I trust him and feel that he is probably more concerned with getting down to the bottom of an issue than being super friendly. Which is what we all need in a doctor. The nurse was very sweet and pleasant as well. We felt taken care of.

My wife and I took our 8 week old daughter to see Dr. Morris. We entered with a hopeful heart that he would be able to provide answers and relief to our baby who has been suffering from sever acid re-flux. Dr. Morris entered the room with a cold manner and avoided eye contact. He spent approximately 30 minutes reading the paper work that we had just filled out and asking every question a second time. Then he went into great detail explaining re-flux and food sensitivity/allergies. Then, that lead into him telling us we needed to learn to deal with it. He said that we could take her to any other GI and they would tell us the same thing. He let us know that we werenâ??t as bad off as other parents who have lost a child due to procedure complications or side effects from medicine. My wife asked a simple question about the medication our daughter was on and he yelled at her and told her â??because it just works!â?? My wife became upset and started crying and he told her â??no matter how… p***ed off at me you get, itâ??s not going to make me prescribe you more medicine.â?? I want to assure everyone reading this, nobody in that room was p***ed off but him and we arenâ??t even sure why he was mad. Throughout the whole visit he was rude, cold, and did not try to offer any help or suggestions other than â??deal with itâ??. We left very discouraged and helpless. (and yes those were his exact words)

Wouldn't see my son who we are adopting because of his "diagnosies",because he has patients that have compromised immune systems. My son has had loose stools for the 4 months we have had him, all tests have come back negative so far, and he has shown no contagions. He doesn't have any diagnosis, we are trying to find out what is wrong! How sad that a pediatric gastroenterologist refuses to see a little boy that is failing to thrive because of loose stools.

My daughter has a chronic condition that started three years ago. She seen Dr. Morris for the first two years until he decided to say that it was all in her head. After 3 surgeries and another one on the way, I have a hard time believing it is all in her head. The nurse was extremely rude every time we went in and over the phone. I am so glad that we found a different doctor who actually takes the time to explain the procedures with us and isnt just tired of dealing with patients so they say its in their head. I truly hope that he doesnt tell all of his patients parents this and something very bad happens.

It is next to impossible to get in touch with the office to get an appointment. Once you do, you will wait for a very long time to see the doctor. He is highly regarded in his field, which is why we went to him, but my son has reflux, nothing more. There is no need for my 3-year-old to wait an hour to see him in a plain waiting room with no toy or books for children (even though his specialty is pediatrics). For each office visit I was billed for an office visit by the doctor and a separate "room" charge by the hospital. So instead of just the $25 co-pay I would have for an office visit anywhere else, I was charged $200 per visit. This is ridiculous when I have a good group insurance policy. I can't imagine what people without insurance are paying!

If it were not for Dr. Morris 20 years ago, my son would not be alive today! He worked hard day and night for countless days to figure out a way to make my sons non functioning liver improve. I know there were times he did not leave the hospital as he was caring for Eric. He did not do what I wanted when I wanted, his goal was to get Eric better not to be my "friend". He knew best, and he acted on it. If it were not for the countless hours he put in, Eric would not have the life he has today. He gathered a group of doctors he knew would take care of Eric. It was a very sad day for us when he left Texas to go to Ok...I will never be able to say enough about what this doctor did for us the first few years of Eric's life. He had faith in a child who should not have lived! This man is smart, caring and an awesome doctor. I know today if I needed him, he is but a phone call away!
