Dr. Michael Akwasi Osei, MD

It is clear Dr Osei Knows his stuff. He has a calm demeanor which is good, especially if you are anything like me and you get flustered or anxious easily ( but then again I would say that is most people- having health issues is never going to be a walk in the park lol). I was super stressed by back pain which only seemed to be getting worse. Anyway, I was recommended by my pain doctor to see Doctor O after a pain procedure. First thing I noticed with doctor Osei, is that he went out of his way to try to make me feel comfortable and calm. He managed to do this without being patronizing. I hate the way some doctors say "calm down" and almost baby you. I am like grr I want a doctor not a parent. Well, I felt comfortable very quickly with Doctor Osei so I think this definitely helped make me feel like I could trust him. In the actual appointment Doctor O asked me a couple of questions about my pain, lifestyle and past treatments, and sat through me yapping on about … everything. He didn't look bored, and seemed genuinely interested and determined to help me get better. He acknowledged that I had been very effected by my condition, which was refreshing in itself. I had, had just about enough of every doctor telling me that it was not the worst pain, that there are people with worse conditions - you know basically telling me to stop exaggerating. That would really bug me, because when you are the one in the situation the only pain that you feel physically is yours, the only pain that is effecting your life, your job, your family is yours. So to hear someone finally acknowledge me and my experience of pain , instead of diminishing it, was just really impactful. Anyway long story short, Doctor Osei referred me to a great physical therapist and continued to monitor me himself over the next couple of months and gave me a good set of achievable goals which worked with my particular lifestyle. Overall, what I can say is that apart from being excellent at his craft Doctor Osei is a really good and honest person. If you want a physician who will advocate for you, and will really work hard for you, then he is the man. He cares about people, and takes pride in his work. Doctor O has been good to me, and I have seen great improvements. The office staff are also very friendly and helpful as well. To completely honest, my experience has been a positive one, and I would always recommend Doctor Osei.

I do not usually write reviews but for dr Osei I will make an exception. He is like a hidden treasure and I am so glad he was the one who looked after me. After suffering a major stroke Dr Osei calmed me and put a treatment plan together for me, and explained it to me. He would always check on me, and say hello to my grandchildren and my brother when they dropped by to visit me. He made my family feel at better about things. I don't think it was easy for them seeing me how I was at the beginning. He's a good man. I didn't ever get the feeling he was in a rush with me, but at the same time he didn't dilly dally. You know how sometimes Drs make you wait forever for no reason. No sir, dr Osei gets things done but doesn't make you feel rushed. Remembers your name. I can't tell you how many Drs have forgotten my name, like I don't even matter.He is patient and seems to care and listen to you. He even remembered when I told him about my son in Ohio getting married and said congratulations… to me! Little things like that count when you aren't well! I'm better now just have check ups every ones and then! If you want a good physiatrist you would have a hard time finding one better than Dr Osei.

I moved to Dr Osei after being displeased with my previous physian. I found Dr Osei to be very helpful and patient. He actually spent time with me and I felt he made a real effort to make me understand my diagnosis. It is hard enough when you are unwell and the medical mumbo jumbo doesn't help neither, that is why Dr Osei was refreshing he really broke things down for me. He is very polite and goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable and at ease. With his help I really do feel my great improvement. My wife and brother are also being treated by Dr Osei after I recommended him to them.
