Dr. Michael Herbert Oshea, MD

I saw Dr. OShea for about a year and during that time I got no help for a kidney stone blocked ureter. It got to the point where I was in so much pain I could not sleep and I had 3+ blood in my urine. At times the entire toilet was filled with red blood. He ignored my pleas and accounts of symptoms and pain. He gave me a diagnosis of flank pain with hermaturia, which is NOT a diagnosis but a description of my symptoms. It was something he said many people had and there was no help for me. Meanwhile my GFR kept getting lower and the symptoms worse. I got to the point that I was going to my PCP, my cardiologist and my neurologist asking about pain killers. I am normally someone who hesitates to take tylenol! Finally my PCP on a Friday afternoon, told me to call Dr. OShea and tell him "I want help now and if he doesn't provide something, he will call Dr. OShea himself". With that Dr. OShea suggested I make an appointment for a few weeks away with a urologist at Bay State. I… ignored that poor advise and went to my urogyn in the Boston area and she ordered a CT scan w/o dye that week. I got a call on a Saturday morning (the day after the scan at Mount Auburn) from my Urogyn's office telling me I had a blocked ureter and that I needed surgery asap! I had the emergency surgery early the next week by my urologist in Newton and was treated for the kidney infection. I was miserable for a week after (with the stent in place) but soon made an amazing recovery! I felt better than I had in more than a year (about the time I fooled around wasting time seeing Dr. OShea). Don't go to him! You will risk the health of your kidneys, which are your life!
