Dr. Michael Stephen Phillips, MD

I've seen Dr. Phillips for years for lower back issues. He has always been a great doctor and has taken great care of me. But due to circumstances out of my control, I have been laid off work and lost my insurance. Dr. Phillips approved me as a "cash pay" patient and an appointment was made. When I arrived for my appointment, I was turned away because I owe Pinnacle Pain Management $325 and can not pay because of my current work situation. Instead of informing me of this on the phone they let me drive to the clinic and turn me away. As stated above I've been seeing Dr. Phillips for years and have always paid what I owe (on time until now) and did exactly as the doctor requested of me. Now that I have hit hard times, they have chosen to ignore my needs and let me live in pain. One of the reasons I wanted to see the doctor or nurse practitioner was to explain my situation and let them know my intentions on when and how I was going to pay for the procedure he has recommended for me. … Unfortunately the small amount of money owed to them is more important than my pain.
