Had 2 nasal surgeries from this butcher. 2 because he had to “try” and fix his first blunder

My mom has seen 2 ENT for her reflux issue before she came to see Dr Pitman. She has had various medications for over 8 months without any effects and the prior ENT just kept asking her to come back to check. I couldn’t describe how thankful we are with Dr Pitman. He was very patient, excellent bedside manner, explained everything clearly, and most importantly willing to share his honest opinion on the best approach going forward without having my mom going through more painful and unnecessary diagnosis exams. I usually don’t leave reviews and this time my mom has been nagging me for months to leave great review for Dr Pitman and she is truly grateful at what he did for her.

Incompetent and uncaring. He told me there was nothing he could do for my condition, despite it being treated with botox since the 80's. Saw another doctor that fixed my problem in just 20 minutes. Seemed to lie when questioned about my condition and made my throat bleed with the endoscope! Avoid at all costs!

My husband had parathyroid cancer and it caused one of his vocal chords to become paralyzed. For 4 years my husband did not have a voice, all he had was very silent hoarseness that nobody could hear or understand him. He used a whistle in the case of an emergency. We were introduced to doctor Pitman by another doctor who removed the cancerous tumor and surrounding cancerous tissues but she couldn't help with correcting my husband's voice. I thank God every day we met doctor Pitman, he is such an excellent doctor that gave my husband his voice again and basically his life back. I would highly recommend him, thank you Dr. Michael Pitman.

Had less knowledge than me about my problem. Arrogant, condescending and a total waste of time. Patient Beware. His Fellow was the worst larygnscope operator and actually tore my throat inside while claiming I was 'sensitive'. Total joke. She smashed it over and over into my gag reflex and it was the worst few mins you can imagine (I have had many of these procedures so I know what it is suppose to feel like). Pathetic lack of knowledge and was of no help. Actually said there was no help for me and he wouldn't help even if it got really really bad. But I know other places do help for my condition.

Turbinate surgeries from ent doctors can cause Empty Nose Syndrome, which damages the nerves in your nose and makes you feel like you're suffocating. Think again before having the surgery.

My experience with this doctor was incredibly disheartening. I never felt that he had a treatment plan for my condition or that he felt any sense of urgency in getting me better. A glaring lack of empathy. Perhaps it's different if you're a performer but if you are a regular person...Thankfully there are other excellent voice docs in NYC.

I have Spasmadic Dysphonia & he's an amazing professional. He listens & is interested when u have something to say! Surrounded by wonderful associates ! He is sooo caring & kind!

I was extremely disappointed in Dr. Pitman. He had no idea what was wrong with me; send me for a sinus CAT scan. Gave me medicine I couldn't take. Left me a message saying CAT scan was fine. I had several other questions and asked him to call me back to discuss the medicine and next steps. He NEVER called me back. I think this is totally unacceptable.

One of the best! Definitely recommend.
