This was my father's surgeon for diverticultis. In the beginning he was very nice and keep us informed on what was going on and the steps that would take place. He performed the first surgery and discussed with us the outcome of the surgery. He ended up having to go back in a second time. He talked with us after the surgery and that was the last time he talked to my mother. My father was in ICU for two weeks after the last surgery and passed away due to infection within his body. We picked up the death certificate yesterday only to findout that he listed cause of death perforated diverticutis and MORBID OBESITY. This is not a reason for his death. My father deserves way more respect. My father weighed around 245lbs. True he was not at the weight that the charts say, but this was not what caused his death. My father had AFIB and Kidney issues that was not caused by weight issues. Why did he not list this on death certificate since they were complications?

Initially thought his bedside manner to be pleasant, however he was unresponsive and condescending to questions regarding my care and progress. He demonstrated a judgmental attitude versus exploring what might be contributing to my distress. On follow up office exam, I found his methods to be crude, in that he just asked me to hike up my dress so he could see my wound. The follow up instructions were poor. Consequently, I would not recommend him to anyone. He may be fine in the OR, but not at the bedside. One other thing, I was misdiagnosed by CT exam an he told me I would have a laproscopic procedure, I awoke to a full open incision with little explanation or reassurance.
