Dr. Michael Franz Presti, MD

You better look as bad as you feel or he will make you feel like you are faking it. He didn't want to read dr's reports, or test results, notes....... nothing. He had already decided that I did not have a certain illness but had no other option as to what it could be. He treated me like I was a compulsive liar who WANTED to have something wrong with her. It was horrible and he could care less. He likes to debunk diagnosis' but has no interest in actual leg work and finding out what is wrong. Oh and he was only supposed to be prescribing one medicine that I had been on for 10 years and he questioned it because I looked "ok". MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE I AM ON MY MEDICATION!!!!!!!!!

I saw Dr. Presti yesterday with my mother, and was very happy with him. Very caring attitude, very patient and interested in our concerns. He listened to everything we had to say and answered all of our questions in such detail and so completely. And when he broke some bad news to us- my mom has a brain tumor AND dementia- he did so with such compassion and made me feel like he would be there for us through all the difficult times ahead. We had asked for a new neurologist after meeting one of his colleagues for our first visit, and I am so happy we ended up with him. My sisters, mom, and I are all very happy with him!

It is so refreshing to meet a doctor like Dr. Presti. I'm not easily impressed, and leave most doctors' offices feeling very underwhelmed, both with their medical knowledge and their bedside manner. But Dr. Presti has both. I am someone who wants to understand my medical conditions and the rationale for the recommended treatment, and he explained things so clearly and so patiently. I was blown away by it- definitely the most I have ever learned from a doctor, and probably the most time I've ever had with a doctor. I wish he could be my family doctor. And the really refreshing part was that he's so easy going and funny- the kind of guy you want to go have a drink with after the visit. I hope he will be here to stay- our little community was very lucky to snatch him up from the Mayo Clinic. It's great to have you here Dr. Presti!

In one word- WOW! I have been to many doctors in my life, and without a doubt, the experience I had with Dr. Presti was by far the best. Not only is this guy BRILIIANT, he is the most courteous, compassionate, and funny doctor I've ever had. I had been to 2 other neurologists in the last year for severe memory loss and tremors before seeing doctor Presti, and was diagnosed by one with Alzheimers (although I'm only 62) and the other with 'cognitive impairment due to depression'. I felt like I was atthe end of my rope- it was like my entire life was literally crumbling. And after getting nowhere with two 'specialists' before him, I thought nobody would be able to help me. Getting in with Dr. Presti probably saved my life. He spent over an hour and a half with me- just listening for probably 45 minutes, and did the most thorough exam I've ever had. He said my symptoms might be do to something called 'paraneoplastic', and he was right! And not only did he figure out what was causing my… symptoms, but he had me go for a body scan because he thought this condition might be due to cancer- and he was right again. The scan showed a small mass in my lung. I've just seen an oncologist for this, and she said the cancer is still very small, and thinks it is treatable. God knows how much it might have spread if I hadn't had had the great fortune of having Dr. Presti as my doctor. I couldn't be more impressed with him- both as a doctor and as a human being.
