Dr. Michael Alan Proffitt, MD

Do NOT at all recommend Dr. Proffitt as an OB/GYN. He has terrible bedside manner, and comes across as very arrogant. He even was very unprofessional and unbuttoned and unzipped my pants without asking me to do so myself at one of my appointments. He also shamed me for advocating for my husband to come to my appointments/ being on FaceTime or speakerphone during appointments, telling me that this wasn’t about me or my husband. My pregnancy IS about me, and IS about my husband. I can understand my husband not being allowed into my appointments but I do not tolerate a doctor shaming me for advocating for myself and the father of child to be apart of my pregnancy. I will give it to Proffitt that he doesn’t lack the knowledge of his profession, but he certainly lacks professional bedside manner. It’s pretty obvious that he is the least sought after OB/GYN when he is one of the most available doctor for turn around appointments.

I was referred to Dr Proffitt by my PCP for some menopausal issues. He explained my options and performed my surgery. He was great at asking if I had questions and sending me elsewhere to address a problem he was not sure of, as well as during the f/u to surgery. I appreciate that and will be switching from having my PCP do my female exams to Dr P. Love this guy! Humerous but serious about my health issues.

He has been my doctor for the past 8 years and he is amazing. He takes the time to listen and never acts like he is just trying to rush in and out. He is an amazing OBGYN

Dr.Proffitt has been my doctor for the last 8 years. He is the best gynocologist I have had. He is very talented, he always provides enough information and advice. He pays attention to my concerns, he is very kind and respectful. He knows his business really well . I trust him 100% and I would never replace him for any other doctor.

I was looking for a new GYN Dr. I found Dr. Proffitt to be very personable, has a comforting bedside manner. He addressed my concerns and offered sound advice for future preventative care. No need to look any further. This is my Doctor. My visit was just today so that is the only reason "Follows up after visit" isn't filled out.

I went in because of my irregular periods. He never addressed my problem, just want to hurry up and get to the next patient. I never could get my prescription, or for anyone to return my calls.

I was scheduled to see Dr. Proffitt for a prenatal appointment when my midwife was ill and have stuck with him. Both my husband and I have been impressed with his bedside manner, how thorough he is, and how personable he is. He has taken the time to address all my concerns.

Dr Proffitt spent a plenty of time with me explaining my condition and options. He understood my anxiety and provided lots of information and assurance. He was also very personable and friendly. He treated me promptly and effectively.
