Dr. Michael Porter Rodrigues, MD

I was being treated for a sinus infection for some time and got no better. Saw Dr. Rodrigues and he ordered an MRI/MRA where they found a GIANT brain aneurysm. I had surgery very quickly at Johns Hopkins and was told the aneurysm was one of the largest they had ever seen at JHU. Dr. Rodrigues saved my life by getting me to where I had to be and I feel I will always owe my life to him.

I've been a patient of dr. Rodrigues for 10 years. I've never had a bad experience or long wait times he is prompt,very courteous and very helpful to my concerns. The staff is very friendly and always very helpful with appointments and any questions.the only time I ever had issues is on Mondays when they're extremely busy and I'm trying to reach them by phone. Usually have to leave a message and wait for someone to return my call or I just call back the next day but all in all the staff is wonderful and dr. Rodrigues I would say is very good and the best doctor in the practice.

I have been to his office a couple of times. The women at the receptionist window is very unprofessional and angry all the time. The doctor seems to always be rushed. I had to wait over an hour with an appointment. I called the office to get a refill on my prescription and the girl took my information but I never recieved a call back. I had to call several times and then the girl tried to tell me I was calling the wrong office because he doesn't prescribe that type of medication. It took me over a week to get a refill and it was called into the pharmacy but I was not notified. On another occasion when my symtoms had become worse, I tried to call and speak to the doctor. After 3 days of waiting for a call back I called again. I was told the doctor never responded to my message that all they could do is leave another. A girl calls me instead of my doctor. Then after relaying information I already knew I tried to explain the reason for needing to speak to the doctor. She says 'I will… check with him and call you right back. 'I never heard back from ANYONE. This has to be the worst experience I have ever had dealing with a doctor and his office.

During the appointment for my young son, Dr. Rodrigues's examination of my son felt very rushed and afterward I had some concerns and wanted to discuss them with Dr. Rodrigues so I called the office the next day and for over a week was told multiple times to leave a message for him and that either later in the day or when he got back into the office that I would receive a call back. All together I left 5 messages and between both offices called about 5 or 6 times in all trying to speak with him. I finally had to call the patient advocate department at Franklin square hospital to get him to call me and then when he did call he was dismissive of me and my concerns and his tone was very nasty. I had every right to discuss my concerns about my child with him and have my concerns answered promptly and with respect.

I was asked to come in 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment time to fill out paper work as this was my first appointment. I did so. Then I waited an HOUR before I finally went up to the desk and said I was leaving. They offered no explanation (like there had been an emergency) or an apology. My time is valuable too. I'll find someone else.
