Dr. Michael F Ruggiero, DO

I couldn't ask for a better Dr.. He has always been very professional and will dig deep to find out what ails you. I have never had issues with him or his staff in the many years I have been a patient.

Takes the time to answer all your questions and the visit doesn't feel rushed like some other doctors.

Dr. Ruggerio is an AMAZING DOCTOR, knowledgeable about his field of expertise, supportive, kind, yet will always shoot ya straight!!! HOWEVER, a majority of his staff are disrespectful, unprofessional, and just plain rude. Between the office manger who calls people names, and receptionist that do not deliver messages that say they will, its just all around the worst experience when dealing with anyone but Dr. Ruggerio. If he is not right there when your dealing with the staff you can FORGET being treated kindly, or being shown any respect at all!

Because of office error, my daughter was never even able to see doctor. Terrible!

Dr. Ruggerio was a really nice guy and easy to talk to I have no complaints or problems with him. However, the manager of the staff at the front desk/ office was extremely rude and spoke to me slowly (almost spelling out each word) like I was an idiot when I re-asked a prescription related question about working with my pharmacists (which I did not understand her response fully). She told me that even though my pharmacist told me to call them it was "my problem" they did not do what the pharmacist asked, she provided no alternative solution or help of any kind. She was sarcastic and sounded as though she woke up and just hated everyone. She would make me not go back to the doctor simply because of her attitude and the lack of help I got from her. The reason why this is a big issue, is when you call an office and are having problems with situations, the manager is who they send the call to in order to sort the situation, she is a horrible match for the job and when I asked to speak… to someone else, she said "she was the person who I could speak to" because she was the staff manager. ( Which means NO HELP)

My three children and I have been seeing Dr. Ruggiero since my son was a year and a half. He is now ten years old. I will always remember the one afternoon I needed a hug and shoulder to cry on and he was there. Mind you I'm a single mother. Last year my oldest daughter was going through a very rough time (thought typical teenager). I was at my wits ends with her behavior and attitude that I decided to take her to see Dr. Ruggiero. Thinking maybe he could recommend a therapist of sort. I started to cry as I described what all had been occurring. He looked at me and came to me with open arms. He gave me the most compassionate hug and allowed me to cry on his shoulder. Needless to say he asked questions to me and my daughter as well ran some tests. She has been diagnosed with ADD and is chemically unbalanced. He prescribed her medication and also informed me that if I wanted to put her on medication it was of course my decision. We went over the advantages and disadvantages… of her being on medication. I never felt pressured in any sort to place her on medication. However she is currently on medication and she is doing awesome!! She was recognized for being in the top 10% of her class and is a straight A" honor roll student. I will never forget how compassionate and caring he demonstrated that afternoon when I needed someone the most. I have now moved and I only hope to find a doctor as great as he is. Thank you Dr. Ruggiero and staff!!

Great if you are there for ADD. Otherwise, if you need a PCP for general health conditions, forget it!!! He always, always tries to refer you to a specialist for the simplest thing and never seems to want to take the time or put in the effort to diagnose anything himself. I can say I have no trust in him after several visits and have now selected a new PCP.

I have been going to this Doctor for a very long time. He has always been honest and up front!! And if he couldn't do the job; did not have a problem calling in a specalist he has always been that way. Making me feel better has always been his 1st priority! I thought I would have a heart attack when my insurance changed and thought he would be out of my network. I had already made up my mind no matter what he is the guy and I would pay what ever the cost. I trust him.

Staff never call back to keep you informed of your prescription status. don't like paying $5 for controlled substances. Dr. is very good about orthopedic type problems and what causes them. He is also good with psychotropic meds. Especially since there is only one psychiatrist in this huge town. And most int/fam med's just hand out samples without knowing what they will do.
