He is amazing, a brilliant surgeon. So sad that he retired Dec 31, 2014

Dr. Sarr performed a complicated stomach surgery that other surgeons refused to do, because of the difficulty and risks. His chief resident told me he'd never seen anything like it. I have had 2 previous unsuccessful operations. I am, for the first time in a dozen years able to function normally. I shall be greatful always for his superb skill and kindness before, during, and following my surgery.

Dr Sarr told me to go to 3 appointments after he was told the insurance might not cover them. He said it would be no charge if they did not. That cost me close to 1800 bucks. He said I needed to operations the first my insurance would only cover part of. Mayo wanted 40k upfront but after 14 months agreed to 20k down the balance on payments. A few days later they called back and said after speaking to Dr. Sarr they were backing out of the payment arrangements . Previously Sarr stated he had nothing to do with the cost. After all this I got copies of my OR reports from 2010 only to read they saw the hernia then but chose not to repair it. I guess they wanted to make more money.

Dr. Sarr performed two surgeries on me:bariatric 2 yrs. ago and repair of an extensive incisional hernia 18 mos. ago.There were pre-existing conditions of pulmonary hypertension, older age, and dumping syndrome resulting from a couple feet of intestines that had been removed during prior surgery for a ruptured appendix. The surgeries were almost pain free, w/ AMAZING final outcomes. I recommend him without reservation. He is a brilliant surgeon, has a great bedside manner, loves to teach his patients, has a good sense of humor and a charming personality. He is an outstanding doctor and a fine individual ---- 'purt near perfect!
