Dr. Michael Henry Schabacker, MD

He's the best!! Unfortunately he retired I've seen him for about 20yrs of a good quality of life, many back n kneck issues, he Always listened, cared, included you in the decision process.Great bedside manner. I miss him already.

Dr. Schabaker was so kind & understanding of my condition. He explained everything very well and answered all of my questions. Thanks to Dr. Schabaker I feel like I have my life back. I highly recommend him and his team

I have been seeing Dr. Michael H. Schabacker for a little over 5 years and he has never lied to me nor has he ever let me down. I travel quite a bit with my job in the oil business and he has done his absolute best to accommodate all of my minor problems associated with things being tuff for me as far as not being able to know for sure where I will be on my appointment days and also has always worked with me on the days that I have to be somewhere on the day I am scheduled to fill my meds. This man in my eyes is a Saint. He asks me all of the right questions and listens to every thing that I am telling him. I would love someday to go out and have lunch with him and just listen to and talk to him. He is 100% on the patients side unless the patient messes up some how on his signed contract. He will not put up with any shenanigans what so ever as his job is always on the line. I would guess after reading some of these rating that the people who are complaining are the people who did not… live up to their part of the contact. It is real simple, don't take meds or drugs that other Dr.s have prescribed to you. Be responsible with your meds and your life. He is the first pain Dr that I have ever met with that does not throw in a little guilt as believe it or not, he in a lot of ways feels the same guilt just because he is doing his job. He is a very fair and honest Dr. and if you act the same way tword him then you should not and will not have a problem with him. I would not want his day to day stress and I think that he does real fine handling it. He also has a whole bunch of empathy for his patients and goes to bat for you. Beware! You’ll think you found the right doctor at first. I was promised a referral for a pain pump. The pain meds prescribed to me for over a year weren’t working very well. I was in tears most visits with Dr Schabaker. I had to take a trip and can’t take extra pills so I ingested some THC infused foods to get through the agony, where it’s legal of course! I was drug tested and cut off like I was garbage. I was accused of lying, and once again the shame of being in chronic pain was overwhelming. It was 7:40 am and I couldn’t pee enough so as a back up I gave a saliva test. I was later accused of lying about not being able to pee. Also I have prescriptions for 2 other meds that can test positive for methamphetamine and benzodiazepines. I was accused of taking a different benzodiazepine than what I’m prescribed!! How can the doctor forget a referral that he said he would make? Makes me feel as if he didn’t believe me or it’s a set up for failure. I felt like just another number. The… doctor should have some accountability if he’s not listening or following through with referrals for proper treatment. Obviously he’s never experienced agonizing pain himself or he wouldn’t have ignored me until I had no choice but to try and survive and use homeopathic options. Now I’m left to withdraw and suffer alone. I’ve been dealing with this for 24 years. I’m told pain management is all I have. How am I supposed to live by being thrown away like garbage? I was always honest with Dr Schabaker and I thought he was different. I found out the hard way that he isn’t. I’m broken hearted because I trusted Dr. Schabaker to take care of me. I don’t think he understands the impact he has in people who are suffering. Very sad.

Dr. Schabacker is one of the only doctors that haven't called me a drug seeker because I was in pain and needed help.

Have you caught your "provider" in lies? Have you been approached by "patients" who play the game and offer to sell you their medications? Have you reported it only to be the one who gets licked to the curb? Lets start a conversation on the deep pockets and who to sue. Talk about pain openly... Are you and older person who has been bullied in this clinic? Lets force change for the better.

I've been going to Dr. Schabacker for approximately 9 years and have no complaints. He always takes time to listen to me and gives me options to choose from in regards to treating my chronic pain. My husband comes with me to the appointments and he agrees that Doctor Schabacker is very thorough in my treatment plan. I have had no problems. His staff are wonderful as well. I would recommend do to Schabacker and Saint Vincent's pain center to anyone struggling with chronic pain.

I've only seen Dr. Shabacker once, my first visit. Since then, I've been pushed off to P.A. Hans Bone. It would be nice if dr. Shabacker would follow up himself, with the patient, every 6 months or so. I feel like I'm swimming around with P.A. Bone and Dr. Shabacker is nowhere to be seen. Also, it would be nice if my paperwork showed the true, accurate reason I go to the pain clinic. I've pointed it out on many occasions and it just gets switched to some other wrong diagnosis. I've told them exactly what I have, what is wrong with me...yet no one bothers to put the proper diagnosis on the paperwork. It's rather disheartening to always see a wrong diagnosis on the top of my personal file.

He doesn't care if you have more pain that meds aren't working as they did. He doesn't listen. Say one thing one month then three months later doesn't reamber. At like he's a god can do what he wants how he wants without anybody over him. Honesty hurts you with him

He's the only Dr that actually listened to what I had to say and didn't accuse me of being a junkie
