Dr. Michael Ralph Scherer, MD

His demeanor is rude and curt. He was outwardly frustrated with my 10 year old son's sleep habits. I was in shock and sat frozen as a parent watching my son be treating like this from a psychologist. My son left the meeting embarrassed and has slept worse since meeting Mr. Scherer. I explained to my son that not all helper's click with people that are asking for help. I am happy to write that we met a very kind sleep psychiatrist to work with my son.

If I could give Dr Scherer zero stars I would. He is rude, condescending, and absolutely uninterested in his patients. We will find another sleep specialist.

I wish we had better results but this doctor told us things anyone can look up online and we’ve tried many times before (don’t use your computer/TV before bed, make sure room is cool, etc etc etc). Then we tried working with him again and he was frustrated and flummoxed why we would even bother having another appt with him if we didn’t do everything he told us to do . He had no questions or considerations that my son has other health issues that might come into play with all of his sleep issues. After each appointment, he just emailed us the same copy of some canned bit of information you can tell he just mails out to whomever seems would fit under that overall diagnosis. Nothing special about it. My son’s last appointment with him…telehealth. My son was sitting next to me but didn’t want to be on the camera. My son’s behavior was only because of his special needs. But the doctor showed absolutely no compassion about it; in fact he was very rude and cut our appointment short. And here… I am paying a $75 no-show fee for that same appointment, just because my special needs child didn’t want to be on camera. What we did receive from him was a sleep issue diagnosis that I can at least share with my son’s other doctors, but nothing else, no resolution. My advice to this doctor…listen to each patient’s overall problem before issuing a blanket resolution in the form of a canned email. And kindly treat us all like people with problems that need help. Not just people you take money from. Peace.
