Dr. Michael Christopher Schettino, MD

I often saw Dr. Schettino at an Urgent Care in Runnemede, NJ when it was first MedExpress, then Riverside, and lastly Optum. Each time, he was very friendly and thorough. I was upset when the Urgent Care closed because he was the doctor that I had the most encounters with and had zero bad experiences.

I've seen him at the urgent care twice. Both times, he was attentive & answered all of my questions thoroughly, as opposed to blowing me off like I'm accustomed to. He's the first doctor to ever prescribe something potent to keep my cough from keeping me awake at night (who knew such a thing existed?) I will always specifically ask for him when needing urgent care!

Very smart knows what he's doing

I went in for an infection and he prescribed me a penicillin which I told him I am allergic to. He told me not to worry about it and prescribed it to me anyway. I called family Dr. and explained the situation and was informed that there are many other alternative medicines to treat an infection. Seems like he has a limited repertoire of medicine knowledge. I guess that's why he works at an UrgentCare. I wouldn't recommend seeing him.

I've never reviewed a doctor before, but when you're doctor starts your follow up appointment with "remind me again what we decisions we made last time?" it's not too encouraging. Seems like a nice guy and he sure is well groomed, but across two appointments, he spent (this is no exaggeration) under 2 minutes total examining me and we spent less than 15 minutes total across two appointments. The first appointment I thought was rushed and he was sure of his diagnosis very quickly. I didn't really think anything about it, but when he walked into our follow up without having even glanced at my file once... I don't know. I'm definitely not going back to see him again, no idea at all about his competence, but his level of attention is among the worst I've experienced. Definitely not reassuring.
