I have had several procedures done by Dr. Schmalz. He has always been compassionate and has listened to concerns and explained results that where easily understood. Never rushed through an appointment and always treated me with respect. Excellent physician.

The procedure was very efficient and the staff was very nice. The only negative was having to use the kiosk to check in. I already had to tell the receptionist who I was then she had me use the Kiosk. Why couldn’t she just take care of it.

My visit concluded with the knowledge and feeling that I was listened to, respected as an equal and was fully diagnosed based on Doctor Schmalz's years of knowledge and experience. It took me over a year to find this doctor, a doctor who is intelligent, compassionate and completely understanding. I left knowing that I made the right and best choice for my health in recovering from the GI problems I was suffering with. I'm extremely grateful for being accepted as a patient by Doctor Schmalz and for the assistance I received at GI Associates - Franklin Office.

Dr schmalz I believe is the best GI Dr I have ever seen, his knowledge in what he does is incredible he can pretty much diagnose you without having to do any procedures and is always right at the outcomes. I highly recommend him to anyone!

Wonderful with an excellent bedside manner! Outstanding reputation within the nursing community. Dr. Michael J. Schmalz was extremely highly recommended by a seasoned nurse with expertise, bedside experience, and updated knowledge in G.I. nursing for a great number of years. Dr. Michael J. Schmalz proved himself these last 5 years in caring for me in performing my necessary G.I. procedures, diagnoses, and precise followthrough. Also, his expertise is evident in how confidently and smoothly he performs his procedures!
