Dr. Michael T Schueppert, MD

Dr. Schueppert did well and most importantly, he talked to me like any other person would. Not some "smart" doctor that was so much better than me.....all in all, as a vascular surgeon, he did what was needed on my leg. Not everything can be fixed, but most can be addressed for the best possible outcome and he gave me a fighting chance. Good guy and I highly recommend.

I find this Dr very knowledgeable and very committed to his work. He does seem a lityle disorganized but I believe that is just a misnomer. He is very comfortable to work with, and explains all his procedures in easy to understand term. I owe him a lot of gratitude. And I have complete faith in his abilities. He is an excellent medical professional, and friend as far as I am concerned.

I had a AAA repaired by Dr Schueppert and his partner. They were able to use the Excluder Stent for my AAA and it went well. I have nothing but praise for Dr Schueppert and his team, I and my wife were treated with a great team of professionals, including the entire staff and also the ICU nurses and others. Overall, saying this was a great experience would be an understatement. I notice many reviews bumped up against his laid-back attitude and may have confused this with him being a know it all....well, maybe he does - and that's the doctor I want fixing me anyway. We got along great with him and I owe this doctor, his partner and the entire team, my life. In closing, I think if you want a doctor that will hold your hand, see Dr Phil, else go see Dr Schueppert.

I found Scheuppert to be somewhat of a bumbler. During each of the 3 appointments i had with him, he came unprepared and presumed to know the answer or solution to my issue: stating either that my kidney should be completely taken out (it didn’t need to be, and it wasn’t), or that the fistula had shrunk (it hadn’t) and there was no reason to see him again (monitoring of the fistula is still necessary). I have been very disappointed with him. I recommend not using his sevices.

I cannot give more grace, love and forever thanks to this fine doctor. He saved my life at 39 years old. I had a very serious aneurysm that had grown large and wrapped around renal artery and my right kidney. A super serious situation. I remember asking him what will happen if I do nothing and he said you will die. Then I asked do you think you can save me, he answered yes but, you have to believe it too. I loved him from that moment. Dr. Schueppert and a team of doctors took veins from my left leg and repaired my renal artery, i even have some of the right kidney alive. He did such a long long long surgery and saved my life. So professional with all of the follow ups, the testing which I still continue to be tested after 14 years. I am a miracle to be here and I give thanks every morning I wake up. I will forever hold this doctor in the highest praise. He is simply the very best at what he does. My mother had an emergency surgical procedure done recently by Dr. Schueppert. I live across the country, but my daughter is a senior nursing student and lives with her. We were all happy that my daughter was with my mother and could report back to us on her condition. My daughter stayed with my mother and met Dr. Schueppert before the surgery. After the surgery, instead of coming down and talking to her as they said he would, he just brushed my daughter off like she wasn't worth talking to (maybe because she is young). He just sent down a message that everything went OK...meanwhile, we all had questions that my daughter was planning to ask him. Very rude, rather full of himself, I'd say, and disrespectful to my daughter and our family.

Dr. Schuppert is probably a good surgeon. I can't really judge that. I think he takes on too much and is too busy to see patients in a timely manner. He does not do a good job of educating patients about their problems. He is condescending--"trust me, I'm God" attitude. I think he kind of blows off seniors. Even with a clean bill of health on all my pre-op work and no major health problems, he just sort of patted me on the hand and said, "What I'm doing should be enough to last you for the duration." I should have gone with the other doctor who said I needed more invasive treatment. If I do decide to go for the other surgery, it won't be with Dr. Schuppert.

Not only is he an excellent surgeon, but he practices at an excellent hospital: Methodist in St. Louis Park, which reminded us a lot of Mayo in Rochester with respect to cheerful atmosphere, cleanliness, efficiency, allocation of staff, friendliness of staff, etc.
