Dr. Michael A Sermersheim, MD

Because he choose not read my medical records And listen to my concerns i now have massive brain damage and am disabled. I would not see him or anyone in this office.

I have had dealings with Dr. Sermersheim for over 17 years and find that he takes the time to listen and absorb exactly what you are saying. This means a lot as it appears so many Drs are on the 15 minutes schedule that it appears they are not listening and halfway out the door to the next patient but this is not the case with Dr. Michael Sermersheim.

Biggest advantage is that he listens.

I have to say in all honesty that 14 years ago I feel he saved my life. I was coughing just a light cough but had been coughing or several months. When I told him about this he left the run and when he came back he told me that Dr. Shapiro (I think) had no openings right away but referred me to another Dr. and had made the appt and. I went to this appt and was immediately sent to have a PET scan. I went back to Dr's office to get results at which time I was told I had lung cancer and was sent to a surgeon right away. Ten years in remission I sent Dr. Sermersheim a thank you card for having saved my life basically due to the fact I had already had 8 chest xrays which had not shown anything and the PET scam did. Won't forget this Dr. ever. In fact I am about to make an appt. to see him as I speak.

Not interested in helping at all, felt comfouafter first visit. Then things quickly changed. Would not recommend, wrong diagnosis.

I have been a patient for nearly three years. I have never been impressed with any of his staff, except his medical assistant, the rest of his staff is horrible to deal with. As far the doctor, I believe he has medical skills, and knowledge to perform the job, but he lacks communication skills. He listens well, and completes the visit leaving you with no real answers. No follow up, no answers, nothing but a bill. I have seen his PA, Emily, she is wonderful. She asks questions, gives answers, and spends alot of time with you. I highly reccomend you see his PA instead of him.

i actually go to him as my doctor, we first met in the e.r. and when i first met him i did't really like him. but when i started seeing him on a regular basis my opinion quickly changed, he remembers me, he's caring and funny and never sugar coats anything. he is by far the best neurologist i've ever been to. the only thing is getting an appoint takes about a month, probably because he's also the hospitals neurologist as well. if you need to see a neurologist go to him, he's amazing

He seemed genuinely interested in my first meeting with him but since that time he has been "unavailable" after the two tests run came back normal. I have been hospitalized for pain so bad that I cannot walk to the bathroom and it is nearly impossible to carry out bodily functions because of the strain put on my lower back. The worst aspect is that I am in the hospital that his firm is adjacent to but he has not made one attempt to check up on my condition and I have been here for three days. I had high hopes but have since been disappointed.
