Dr. Michael D Severson, MD

I was referred to Dr. Severson for diagnostic shots in my lower back. I have been dealing with pain for many years. Have tried all conventional methods and nothing has worked. I'm in horrible pain all the time and can't take pain meds because they gave me an ulcer. From the get go this Dr. was rude, dismissive and condescending. He disparaged chiropractic care. Said it was "crap". Told me I was an anxious person and shouldn't be in so much pain and should get mental help. UNBELIEVABLE!! I have never been treated this poorly from a Doctor. He did nothing for us and said we could get a second opinion. I would avoid this Doctor like the plague!

Severson shouldn't have a license to practice medicine. He is an arrogant person and a narcissist. He does nothing to help his patients and threatened me which is against the law. If you need pain management and want free pills he's your man!

This man made my mother cry. If you're looking for a c.y.a. type of dr. then this is your guy. My surgeon's office actually had to call this man and ask him if he could please do his job. If you have one blemish on your record, I.e. Call in early for refill, or happen to know the names of the drugs being prescribed, don't go. It's called practicing medicine for a reason and some people forget that, albeit there have been major changes in law regarding pain management that put doctors in a bind some actions are inexcusable, but forgivable. I wish you and your search for a dr. with a spine a the luck in the world.

My husband has been dealing with chronic pain to due 3 open heart surgeries plus several other abdominal surgeries for the past 15 years. We recently moved to the area and were referred to Dr. Severson. From the very moment he enter the room he was judgemental, condicending, and rude. Not one did he treat my husband has a human being nor trusted anything I told him. We have stopped seeing him since. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. The staff however was always very sweet and curtious.

Doctor and staff are always attentive and friendly.

I have only been seeing him for about 5 months, but he has been horrible everytime. He is so condescending! I have had chronic pain for 7 years, and have numerous official diagnosis from my specialists, and he seems to think they were wrong. Today I saw him, and he didn't even make eye contact with me, and actually walked out of the room while I was mid-sentence!! His nurse didn't even take my vitals, she asked me if I knew how much I weighed and how tall I was. This whole office is a joke!

My wife goes to this doctor and comes home in tears mostly because his staff is so rude and attacking. She will not be going back.

Doctor Severson really seems to be interested in finding out how he can help his patients and really listens to the issues affecting my pain. I think he acts as sort of a detective trying to find the cause of the pain and plot a course towards a good result.

I have been dealing with chronic pain for about 7 yrs now and Dr. Severson has give me nothing but grief the year and a half I have been seeing him! Instead of helping me handle the pain he is trying to prove that what I've been diagnosed with is not true! Forcing me to have repeated tests because he doesn't believe my specialist I have seen prior! Not a good bed side manner at all and does not know how to sympathize with his patients! Do not get involved with this doctor you will be sorry!
