Dr. Michael Jeffrey Sherrow, MD

Very thorough. Had to refer me to another more specialized surgeon. He actually personally called me to communicate my complicarions and answer my questions. Superior doctor.

This doctor tried to treat a tailbone wound by closing up the lower half of the opening of the tailbone area. All the outside stitches came loose and was left open. Told to use a wound vac for 4 wks until surgery for flap to cover could be performed. Wound vac actually caused more problems and created a larger open wound area. 2 weeks into wound vac -were seen by dr and he said it looked ok without even removing wound vac. Needless to say we and our daughter was very upset. We have now followed up with a plastic surgeon. We were in constant communication with dr's nurse regarding the progress of care. Always told pain, bleeding, odor was normal. Finally, did see him and all he did was talk in circles saying the same thing over and over. Do not see this dr for wound care.

I had a hiatal hernia repair and gall bladder removed and felt very comfortable and cared for , he was very careful before the surgery ruling out other issues that he might need to address explaining to me why. I went to Park Ridge to Lutheran general hospital for test and conformation of needed treatment . I was 1 DAY IN THE HOSPITAL AND THEN HOME , because he was able to do laparoscopy and not a open surgery .I have only great things to say and I will recommend him to family and friends . Oh another plus he spent time with my family after the surgery too.... never feel rushed or unanswered

I liked Dr. Sherrow's manner and caring for my problem before, during, and after my surgery. I was in the hospital 3 weeks resulting from 2 surgeries following a diverticulitis attack and subsequent infection. I felt confident with his explanations and had no concerns regarding my surgeries. Dr. Sherrow was there to see me 17 days of my 21 in the hospital. Upon returning home, he even provided his cell phone number to me should I have any questions.

As the girlfriend of a patient, I am extremely satisfied with the overall experience we have had with Dr. Sherrow. From his knowledge, to his bedside manner, to his simple explanations of complex situations, as well as humor to keep things light when things seem dreary. He is always willing to see to the patients needs and never ever brushes things off as trivial. Everything to Dr. Sherrow is of utmost importance and for that we thank you! Thank you for taking the time to care for your patients as if they were an extention of your own family! I would definitely recommend Dr. Sherrow to anyone in need of a great surgeon!
