Dr. Michael John Shinners JR., MD

I have medical experience plus was married to a medical doctor so I am not dumb when it comes to medicine. I have seen many physicians and this was my worst experience ever. Dr Shinners now practices in Fargo, ND. I was referred to him by one of my other doctors. He was arrogant from the moment he walked in and in a hurry. He stated my issue was from chewing too much. It is not. Also, stated to take NSAIDS and had he looked at my chart he would have known that I can't take them. He removed some ear wax which was not a lot. The symptoms have continued several months later even after the initial appointment. My pulmonologist is now the one who is seeing an issue and I am yet again being referred to ENT. I will not be seeing Dr Shinners.

he took away what hearing I had. I was told he was the best. convinced me to have the implant suregery , then walked out..now my hearing is gone. and implant doesnt work right.. audiologist has no idea what to do on complicated cases.. this doctor needs to stop practicing medicine on live patience,,

convinces you to have surgery, then walks out on you..

He ruined my ability to hear. He needs to have his head shoved in a blender lol.

A great doctor who saved my hearing

Dr. Shinners' communicated skepticism from the moment he entered the treatment room. He spoke to me as if he thought I had generated a self-diagnosis, even though I went to him on referral from another ENT. He was abrupt, dismissive and rude. His audiologist and PA, who I saw/spoke with upon a follow up visit were EXCELLENT and delivered the kind of patient care I expected. If I had my druthers, I would never see Dr. Shinners again.

Shocking unprofessional, poor bedside manner, horrible patient care.

I have never had a worse experience with a medical professional. Dr. Shinners was belligerent from the moment he walked in. He refused to discuss my symptoms or answer my questions. He made a snap diagnosis without looking at my medical records, notes from previous specialists, or performing any physical exam. Shockingly unprofessional. At one point, he aggressively leaned in so close while lecturing me that I had to ask him three times to back off. My after-visit form had information that directly contradicted specific statements he made during my visit. Avoid this doctor at all costs.

I am so impressed with Dr. Shinners and his staff. Yvonne has gone above and beyond her duties to help me prepare for surgery with Dr. Shinners. Her customer service has been the Best experience I have ever had with any doctor office. Dr. Shinners was very polite, thorough explaining the surgery, the after effects, the things that may occur during or after surgery. I am more than grateful to Dr. Shinners, Yvonne, and the Northshore staff. I would recommend this office one thousand times.

Waste of my time seeing Michael Shinner! I had a resident talk with me about my issues. They spoke with out me in hall. I met him and he didn't ask me any questions and diagnosed me with migraine associated vertigo. I was told I had Menieres disease for an ent. Why I was sent to shinners. I seen several doctors and neurologist after and all said I have menieres disease. He told me I did not have that disease which he was wrong, didn't ask me questions, was pretty much a jerk who thought by looking at me he knew what I had. WRONG! Don't recommend him at all!
