I was referred to the doctor from urgent care due to a mass that was seen on an ex ray. The ofc staff was ok but I felt that no one informed me why I was there. When I inquired the doctor told me “ I’m a cancer doctor”. My next question was” why am I here”. I was scheduled to have my left ovary removed due to a mass. I requested an ultrasound to make sure this was indeed a fact. The doctor gave me the surgery procedures and did not check the ultrasound before our meeting. After I requested he view the ultrasound the doctor Walkedbs k into the exam room with a solemn look and stated “ It would be unprofessional for me to remove your ovaries when they don’t need to be removed maybe the mass is on your kidneys”. Mistakes happen and I was spared. Today the doctors office called to see if I would be in for my post op appointment. There was no surgery. How could they not know that? Lack of communication with this doctor as his staff left me feeling I comfortable to say the… least. The phone call today for a surgery that never took place topped the iceberg for me. We must advocate for ourselves. Don’t believe everything any doctor tell you

I was diagnosed with Grade 3 cancer and had surgery less than seven months ago. I've switched insurance plans and I chose Dr. Silverman to be my new oncologist; I met with him and his assistant Melanie last month and received my first exam post cancer surgery. Keep in mind I have had GRADE 3 cancer (the fastest growing). I received a post appointment paper with instructions to call Dr. Silverman immediately if any of these symptoms appear: blood in urine, bloated stomach, discomfort in my abdomen area. I'm experiencing all of the above, so I call the doctor to make an appointment. Audriana tells me that Dr. Silverman told me to see my primary care doctor, not him. Whaaaat?! I just survived a bout of cancer less than seven months ago, and I'm now experiencing all of the symptoms of a reoccurrence, and he wants me to see my regular doctor????? This makes no sense. I'd recommend you go to a doctor that actually cares if his patients live or die...

Ladies, this is the doctor you want! Dr. Silverman took the time to explain the procedure to me in terms I could actually understand and the surgery went exactly as he described. As a bonus his office staff is fabulous! I will be recommending him to all my friends!

Dr Silverman has a bad reputation. Patients at Scripps myself included don’t feel comfortable w him. He recommended surgery when every other consult I received said no. You have to wait hours to see him. He’s very cold even when sharing bad diagnose.

I am a one year+ cancer survivor and owe my life to Dr. Silverman. He is not only an outstanding surgeon, but he listened to what I wanted and said he would try to do all he could to accommodate my wishes and he did!

Thank you to Dr Silverman for his treatment of my daughter. He is kind, intelligent and truly treated her as if she were his own daughter.

Had an appointment with this doctor and had to cancel due to a migraine and unable to drive the 30 miles, received a phone call 5 minutes later from his office stating the doctor would not reschedule my appointment cause I gave such a short notice of cancellation. His office opened at 8am and I called at 802am for an 9 appointment. Migraines don’t have an onset time and being a doctor he should know this very well, very rude of this healthcare provider and after reading the results on this website which I should have done first, what a blessing it is that he won’t see me!

Treated my friend when she went unstable even though she was not his patient. Great care during and after!

Dr Silverman performed my hysterectomy. He is a skilled surgeon, respected by other doctors. My surgery went very well without complication. His fallow up care and office staff have been the very best!
