My primary orthopedic surgeon referred me to Dr Michael D Smith when I had severe neck pain and could not lift my head upright. I found Dr Smith aloof and uncaring. He was unable to diagnose my problem and seemed uninterested. At our final appointment he said “I don’t see a problem, besides, it’s only pain”. What a horrible way for a doctor to respond. The pain slowly subsided over the next few months. Unfortunately, I was left with permanent nerve damage to my left arm, as well as significant muscle atrophy to my tricep and forearm. By the time I was referred to a different doctor, it was too late to stop or reverse the damage. I will have to live with the results of his incompetence for the rest of my life.

What can I say but it was a wonderful experience having Dr. M. Smith as my doctor for my surgery. Also his staff is very kind and they make sure you understand what they tell you, they all care about your well-being!!

Dr Smith and his staff were excellent to deal with! Dr Smith is a great listener, and allows you to ask any questions you need to. I was terrified of having surgery on my neck, and he was so calm and understanding. His nurse Anne is amazing! On top of everything!! She follows through on every detail, and makes the whole process smooth. Both of them together, are a great team, and I am so happy with my surgery and my care. He too recommended surgery but his bedside manner and overall personality made me switch from my first doctor to him. Dr. Smith and his team are top notch in my book and I would recommend him highly to anyone having cervical spine issues. He listens, he cares and he treats you like a human being!!!!
