Dr. Michael Scott Smith, MD

Dr. Michael Scott Smith was awesome! He was caring and kind! Everyone else in the ER that night, was rude and uncaring! They just sat there and let me bleed! They were just another example of our uncaring world! Dr Smith on the other hand was a glimmer of light! Thank you, Dr. Smith!

My 90 yr. old father was brought to the ER and seen by Dr. Michael Scott Smith. He was rude and did not take care of the issues my dad was brought in for. He was to have a CT scan, and the doctor rejected the orders and just checked his urine instead. Then he released my dad without even taking the time to talk with me about his findings. When I asked the nurse for him to please come in the room to give me a report, he refused. What a poor example of a doctor who cares and helps his patients.

I have a very painful chronic illness that is as painful as cancer. And have been in St. John’s as many as 90 days two years ago. Dr Smith today say me at 12:15 and did not come back for 5 hours. While I rolled in pain. He gave me no pain relief during this five hours. Then sent me home with 12 7.5 mil norco. Less than I take at home. He is the only Doctor that does not admit me. Of probably 20 different doctors I find it hard to believe 19 are wrong and he is right. Normal lay I am in the a week on IV morphine. Every 3 hours. I just can’t take the pain when it gets like that. I just must do something for others.

Pos I was sent over by ambulance from a st johns urgent care because they were concerned with my labs and how i presented to them. Potassium was 2.8 Wbc 23000 Lethargic Weak In pain Nauseated, Vomited stomach acid Basically michael smith and the nurses accused me of not taking my potassium, pretending i was hurting as much as i am and somehow causing my wbc to rise. He ordered potassium by mouth when im nauseated and on an empty stomach and on top of what i already take at home 3xs a day! It wasnt just a lil bit, it was 1 1/2c full. When i refused telling them it was too much the nurse threatened me with a tube down my nose to force me to take it. And yells at me that they have other patients to see and dont have time for my questions and my knowlege about my potassium after having it happen for 11yrs. Then the dr comes in and yells at me that i had to take it or id be discharged. So i refused to sign discharge papers, the nurse threw a fit when i explained that if i… signed it meant i agreed with being discharged and in the condition im in i dont agree. And she stormed out and tattle tailed to michael. I left in distress. Im hurting, laying in my bed contemplating wth i should keep on taking my meds, doing what im supposed to do to try and avoid the er (op treatment) only to be accused of time and time again of not doing what i am doing. I shouldnt be afraid of getting help when needed. And that i am. Can even ask the emt lady, i was panicking and not sure if i should go and where i should go because all of them are the crap! 3 strikes youre out! (First time at st johns after an od they left me alone in the room with the rest of my meds on the counter for 3 1/2 hrs. 2nd time i took myself there via the advice of an urgent care dr for iv potassium...and this time is 3rd time... i do not recommend st johns er at all!????????????????

I went to St Johns ER after suffering with intense intestinal pain for 3 maths. I was very briefly seen by Dr Michael Smith. I was the only patient at the ER that morning. Dr Smith had no time nor concern for my painful issue. He sent me for a gall bladder scan. All o.k. I went back to the room expecting to see the Dr again. He did come in briefly telling me to go to my PCP, Which I had already done. That was it! I was in so much pain. I asked the nurse to send the Dr back in. He would not come back! I suffered for 6 maths with whatever was wrong. This "Dr" should not be practicing! He is a disgrace to St John's! They were great at billing my insurance company! But from a patient level it was VERY disheartening!

I'd been suffering with intestinal pain for 3 mths. I made the call to get to the ER.Was seen by "Dr" Smith. We spoke for minutes,was sent for gall bladder ck.all ok. there. Nurse came in.I was advised to go home & call PCP. I begged in tears for the Dr to come back in again.NO Go!Sorry excuse for a Dr

Sent my husband home full of fluids, chest pain and hasn't been able to urinate in 24 hours. Said to follow up with family practitioner. Family practitioner sent husband to hospital ER in the first place. Dr. seemed very fustrated.

Def.would not recommend to saitin himself. P!ss poor attitude, and just all together very rude. My wife was in alot of pain and he made us so mad, I pulled her out of his care and st johns completely. He must be bad when even the nurses talk about how much if a butt head he is
