Dr. Michael S Somero, MD

The Miami Beach office is headed by a Dr. Micheal Somero. My experience and that of my spouse were horrendous with him. He was in California before Miami, where he admitted to The Medical Board Of California findings of 1. Reaped Acts of Negligence 2. Incompetence 3, Poor record keeping.

He is in Miami Beach now and about the rudest physician I have ever encountered. At all of my appointments he has walked me out of the room while I was still speaking. Every time we meet it's like the firs time. He seems to have no recollection of me. He seems entirely uninterested in functioning as my primary doctor (which he is), and has pointed out at every appointment that he is an Infectious Disease specialist. I am personally acquainted with at least 5 people who have changed doctors because of his attitude. He has a very flat affect, and does not seem to have any empathy for his patients. Not exactly what one would call a "people person". Probably better suited to work alone in a lab and stay away from sick people.

I was followed by Dr. Somero for 15 years and was a loyal patient. He chose to leave his practice and move to Florida to be with his new partner and his practice was sold to a shady medical group which dumped all of his patients. I took his word that we would continue to be followed. I should have done what all of his angry patients have done and immediately transfer my medical records. Now I have no medical history and I am starting over with a new doctor. I've been living with HIV for 30 years and this is what I get for being loyal to a doctor who I thought was loyal to his patients. Sadly, I'll never trust another doctor.

I am a 24 year post heart transplant patient. Dr. Somero treated me 1 1/2 years ago for C.M.V. infection in the hospital. He gave me 10 days of antibiotic that requires a minimum of two weeks treatment. Within 3 days I had ulcerated blisters all over the inside of my mouth and tongue. I wound up spending two weeks hospitalized at Stanford. So about three months ago, he treated me in the hospital once again. I now had a C. diff. infection. I was treated for 6-7 days and released me without rechecking for the infection, which I thought was odd. Within two days, I knew the infection. So here I am in incredible pain and still positive for C. diff. Many calls and a follow up appt. and all this guy does is prescribe more antibiotics which is one of the causes of C. diff in the first place. A poor poor excuse for a Dr. Maybe that's why he's leaving town!

horrible. misdiagnosed me after being exposed to stachybotrys at the hospital in rancho mirage. told me illness was not caused by mycotoxins. he was rude, arrogant. too young and not very bright. top envori med doc saw me and properly diagnosed me.

Dr.Somero is a wonderful Dr.is excellent with all of his pt's.

Office staff is arrogant - dr. somero is very hard to reach by phone and rarely sees in-patients in normal hours

Dr. Somero is a wonderful doctor who is honestly concerned for his patients. He takes the time to talk and listen to all the concerns a patient has. You aren't just a chart with Dr. Somero. Can't recommend him enough.

He saved my life! I had been infected with MRSA and LRSA during a lympth node biopsy and nearly died from it. Dr. Somero was called in, on my dead bed, and saved my life. I love this guy!
