It took three years and various injections before I finally agreed to the surgery, and I wish I'd done it sooner! A full knee replacement is a major procedure, and I was nervous about it, but just three months later, I'm very happy with the results.

I am quite pleased with Dr M Sparks & staff friendly yet professional manner I did not feel rushed during pre or post op appointments We had candid conversations and no pressure for surgery I felt I had total control of my health care decisions and all my questions were respectfully listened to and answered Both DHMC and APD sites were clean and staff courteous and helpful If I have to have my left knee done I would return to Dr Sparks for care The only issue experienced was my husband was not notified or spoken to post surgery adding to his anxiety about my procedure I am thrilled to have pain free full use of my right knee apart from morning stiffness and returning to various sports before three months

Dr. Sparks replaced my left knee six years ago and my right knee three months ago. Although he cautioned me that my legs “aren’t twins,” and recovery of the right knee might not progress as well as the left, the new knee is doing very well, and I plan to ski on her (gently at first) next month. I believe Dr. Sparks’ skill and attentiveness (and that of his team) is first rate. If I were born with three legs and required a third TKR (sigh), he’d be the man I’d call.

In my opinion and prior experience 10 years ago with my first knee replacement, Dr Sparks and his team have gone above and beyond from start to finish. Recovery was cut in half and I was back to doing most things in 8 weeks or so.

Outstanding outcome. Back skiing trees at Jay, Ultimate Prouty biking, and peak bagging in the Whites. New knees have issues - a bit of stiffness, less flexion, and learning new balance point. But compared to the pre-surgery knees, the new ones are life-reinvigorating. They just don't hurt. And I am back to my athletics. Should have had the surgery done 10 or 15 years ago. Process was very well managed, and Dr. Sparks and his team are very much professionals in their work.

Exquisite. Perfection with respect to surgery. Personal skills were excellent as before (10/15/12) and (1/29/13). Recovery remains testimony to success. Remain in awe that after manipulation under anaesthesia on 1/29/13 I was downhill skiing in Eurpose on 3/01/13. Second knee replacement similarly successful.

I would highly recommend Dr Michael Sparks, he is a no nonsense guy that tells it like it is, his videos keep you informed before and after surgery and his team is checking on you through the process, I have had no issues with my total knee replacement

After my initial visit with Dr.Sparks, I told him "Thanks - I feel seen." He got me to explore my goals, went into just the right amount of detail to explain the procedure and risks and why he was recommending a total knee replacement. He is part of an excellent team. The entire process of imaging, diagnosis, the procedure itself and the follow-up were seamless and always on time.

I had a partial knee replacement (at another hospital) that was giving me problems. Dr. Sparks ' team quickly diagnosed that the knee was infected. This required a surgery to remove the implants from the infected knee and put in antibiotic spacers. A few months later - after the infection cleared up - I had a second surgery with Dr. Sparks to put in a total knee replacement. Although recovery has been slow, my knee is finally healing and getting stronger.

Dr Sparks and team provided competent and compassionate care in total L knee replacement 3/26/24. My successful recovery is a function of their expertise and the confidence I had in the process that Dr Sparks inspired. I recommend him any time I have the opportunity.
