Dr. Michael Gary Stone, DO

I was very sick and scared and self isolating on a Friday, so I called trying to talk to my doctor over the phone. His nurse told me that he does not treat Covid-19, so I was not allowed to talk to him. His nurse had zero compassion. When I called back that Monday to talk to him, I never received a call back.

Would give a zero if I could. Totally misdiagnosed two members of my family saying it was something minor when both were very serious.

I was a patient of Dr. Stones for 2 years. I came to him with some pretty major concerns which I felt he never addressed and instead brushed off as me being overweight. I ended up in the hospital with a critical disease that could have been prevented had he listened to me initially. I could have died because of this. He's probably fine if you have a sore throat, but I wouldn't trust him beyond that. Also his social skills and bedside manner are awkward.

I was a patient of Dr.Stone in Washington, MO. He was the best doctor I have had in 50 years. He listens, evaluates, considers everything and doesn't just throw medicines or tests at you. He spends whatever time is necessary in the appointment and his office was great at follow-up. I really miss having someone with his skills, approach and the trust that resulted over time. Medical care today is hit-n-miss so when you find a star like him, you hate to lose them.

Virtually nil waiting time, spent time with me, patiently listened, addressed all questions and performed necessary physical assessments. As a nurse I would HIGHLY recommend this Dr.!

He is the type of doctor that seems to want to get in and get out of his appointment as fast as he can. It was very awkward being in the room with him and it felt like i was making him uncomfortable. I'm not sure what his deal is, but he definitely needs some work on his bedside manner. Outside of the poor social skills, i have no issue with him.
