Dr. Michael C Susco, MD

Dr. Susco's repeated interactions demonstrate a shocking lack of professionalism and basic respect. Each encounter felt like our first, as he consistently failed to remember any details abt me. He treated me with condescension, a stark contrast to how I am regarded by others. His inability to accurately assess my sincerity is likely due narcissistic behavior and the constant interruptions to answer his phone, even during our brief sessions. He openly discusses other patients' cases, a clear violation of privacy and ethical boundaries. Further more, his billing practices are fraudulent. He bills insurance companies for 45-minute sessions when appointments last a mere 15 minutes. He was also put on probation when he practiced where he's originally from. Additionally, Dr. Susco also practices at FLACRA which I would NOT send my worst enemy to. However, he does fit in with the agency. They don't care about addiction or mental health and just want your money so they can bill your… insurance. Dr. Susco was also part of a huge cover-up at FLACRA. A person came into their Crisis Center/detox. This individual who was detoxing from alcohol was not evaluated by a doctor like they're supposed to be when they initially enter detox. Someone working there, (who probably isn't even qualified to work there), gave this individual the wrong meditation and ended up dying! The poor family were notified 7 hours later their loved one had passed away and the body was already with a medical examiner. This is just one of MANY other situations that have occurred. Dr. Susco is the Chief of Medical Treatment for the agency. He has to sign off on every medical case. You don't hear about these horrible things happening because FLACRA knows how to keep these things from getting out. They hire "yes" people. So he runs a full time private mental health office and also is the full-time medical doctor at FLACRA. You can't safely do both! He just sees dollar signs and further making a name for himself, (or so he thinks). Also, his wife, Cassandra, who manages the front desk and office, exhibits equally unacceptable behavior. She is rude and unprofessional, even telling me to "shut up" when I calmly attempted to advocate for myself. I will be filing formal complaints with the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) and my insurance company regarding his unethical practices, and billing. I will also be consulting with an attorney to explore all available legal options. Let me be clear: I will pursue every avenue to hold Dr. Susco accountable for his egregious conduct. His treatment of patients is unacceptable and goes against patients rights. I love how so many people can support the LGBT community and hate. But when it comes to mental health and addictions, you get doctors like Susco and agency's like FLACRA who are literally doing more harm.

Suggestion... Go elsewhere.Its extremely hard to advocate for yourself when the dr works for the pharmaceutical companies. He would rather have you all doped up. He takes care of the addicts,but if you want to get better, go elsewhere. He has a bad reputation with many professionals and patients. I told him until he becomes a genesight provider I will say he has put me through med hell. IAM terrified of medication. I am now neurotic about gene drug responses and I never was. It took me months to find Drs to prescribe me meds that I know work with my DNA Just be extremely careful if you decide to trust him. Oh, ask him his logic he ignores. Confront him, he plays victim. He likes to yell at you as well. I only stayed till I found a Dr who actually cares about you, not money. He bills an extra 200 for telehealth, odd cause manyfear leaving the house and he supposed to HELP mental health issues

Everytime it's time for me to get my refills there I ALWAYS something delaying it

Over prescribes. Wasted a year of my life because of the medications he had me on. Made me worse then the beginning amd created so many other issues. Once I talked to other psychiatrists they were shocked and confused as to why any psychiatrist would ever put a patient on the amount of medications and the combination of medications I was on. Please, please, please do not go to him or let anyone you care about go to him.

Dr. Susco was very knowledgeable, informative and sensitive to my needs as a patient with major depression. He most likely may be attributed to my being alive today. Thank you.

Dr Susco helped me get back to living after a traumatic car accident changed my life. He knew the triggers and helped me work through using ways from which I could successfully develop . This saved my life when I felt like I couldn’t deal with chronic pain anymore. His services and great care have improved my life and helped me earn back my courage. Thank you Dr Susco! Poughkeepsie area misses your expertise and sense of humor.

rude, arrogant. no regard for my input. Doctor=God complex. Cancelled often, arrived late, finished early.

The doctor offers little else in difficult cases except ECT. As a family member, it was pratically impossible to get in touch with the doctor and discuss any other treatment.

I am very upset by Dr. Susco's professonalism. I had a friend who was one of his Patients. Dr. Susco had no follow-up treatment and no plans for aftetcare. I'm appalled of the lack of patient care. I have been in Healthcare profession for over 20 years and have ever experiencred this lack of patient care. I have worked in Healthcare for over 20 years and appalled by the lack of patient care he expressed. He should be reported to the the Medical Association.
