Dr. Michael Saikit Tam, MD

Anyone thinking about hiring Dr. Michael Sai-Kit Tam as their surgeon should seriously reconsider. My wife underwent surgery by Dr. Tam and died as a result. It was determined that she died from internal bleeding due to a large cut defect/perforation in her abdominal omentum and mesentery due to Dr. Tam. I wish I had read the prior poor reviews of Dr. Tam before she underwent surgery. I hope by writing this review I can help save others from experiencing the same nightmare I am currently going through.

I found Dr. Tam to be a great Surgeon. He took time to explain my situation and the procedure. He listened to my questions and answered all of them. Dr. Tam respected my beliefs and wishes. He did a fantastic job on the surgery in a timely manner.

Seemed bright at the consult though he did all the talking. But another 2nd opinion surgeon warned that Dr.Tam’s complication-error and death rate is way above average as he lacks the real skill one would hope for in a surgeon for your family. His only actual skill and interest is in making sure patients, staff call him “surgeon doctor.” It’s sad he can’t just be at least competent as a surgeon.

Arrogant, dismissive and has no empathy. Would never recommend.
