Doesn't answer calls,staff incompetent

Dr. Michael Tolwin was my psychiatrist for over 14 years, until I had to move from Cali to Oklahoma. He is a very good listener, extremely intelligent, understood my personal problems, gave me excellent advice, prescribed an anti-depressant that turned my life around for the better, and his staff was always pleasant and helpful.

He doesn't need to spend that much time with me, he diagnosed me by offering me a piece of candy and I took more than one. He's great, ,,,,

He needs to have his license stripped.

Worst Doctor I've seen in 30 years of treatment. Arrogant man, he rushes you out but won't know your name or if you have seen him before. This is not medicine, it's pseudo treatment by an impaired Physian. I've worked at facilities that Dr.Tolwin has worked at . I'm a Psychiatric Social Worker and my care was so sub par (horrible) that I sold my boat to see another Doctor fro medication management that knows I am his patient when I have an appointment. You are much better off seeing a psychiatrist at County Mental Health Center than to risk your life on "black hole of Calcutta" level health "care". He does see many patints in a day..but I surte don't need somene giving me 5 minutes, won't listen and impaired by attitude and a too high patient load. Avoid.

Difficult to make appointments. Small gross waiting room. No consideration for patients time.

Horrible, horrible medical practice! Waiting room is jammed full with many patients that are unstable. It doesn't matter if you have an appointment time as walk-ins will be taken before you. No one calls your name and escorts you in to the office - the receptionist just says "NEXT" and you have to be buzzed in and then go down the hall (like The Green Mile) to his office. There you will find him seated behind his laptop, never rising to greet you, and then he looks up over his screen and says "Last name?". He doesn't give you any time to even explain what changes you are experiencing with medication and then cuts you off and says up the dosage. "NEXT!" That's it - 30 seconds. A $20 co-pay and a $7.50 parking fee because you had to wait over an hour for your so-called appointment. This is not a one-time happenstance - more like 3 times. Very cold doctor and a very poorly run front office. Never again.

Very caring, compassionate and knowledgable doctor. He has helped me tremendously where others have failed. I highly recommend this doctor.

He is very compassionate. I have been having some difficulty in moving and he set up telephone sessions that really a big help for me. Assistant Rina is always very nice.
