Dr. Michael Peter Verni, MD

I highly recommend Dr. Verni! I went to two different urologists before finding Dr. Verni and getting the proper treatment. He is hands down one of the best and most highly competent doctors I’ve had in my life! If you are worried about a little wait, he is definitely worth the wait. He takes the time to give individual care to his patients and never made me feel rushed! He is the best urologist you’ll find in Nevada!

This Dr. was highly recommended to me by my OBGYN, an amazing, caring lady for co-surgery. I went to my appointment and I was handed bunch of paperwork to fill out, which is ok, however I came across a page, looking more like a price list for admin services and I had to initial by each fee. The tip of the iceberg was 18% interest rate which starts accruing on day 60 of unpaid balances. It didn't specify if it is personal or insurance responsibility. At day 90 of unpaid balances the patient is sent to collection. As a good citizen I pay my bills so I initialed but then I went to the next page asking me to revoke my rights of pursuing a lawsuit and agree in advance to Arbitration in case of malpractice. In addition I am mandated to use a retired arbitrary who will mediate between me and the doctor and settle the case because it was cheaper. Considering that I did not see this doctor even once and was about to trust him with my surgery these concerns about revoking my legal rights… raised tons of red flags and questions in my head how many malpractice cases he has settled through Arbitration so far. I told the Admin that I can't sign this document before I consult an attorney but I still need to meet with the doctor. She said a lot of other doctors require it. I responded that only because others sign paperwork they don't understand does not mandate that I will. For the record for whomever is reading this, I have been to about 10 doctors offices the last couple of months and this is the only one who asked me to revoke my rights. She stated that the doctor won't see me if I didn't sign the Arbitration Agreement. I told her that the chance that the doctor and I will sue each other at first visit are next to none and I don't mind seeing him since I was there for a second opinion and looking for co surgeon. She stated that the doctor makes the rules and he will not see anyone who did not sign the Arbitration agreement and she handed me my paperwork. I did not think anyone at this office through communication or via reading their paperwork had any concern about my health and this appointment was a waste of my time. Just for the record Dr. your patients are already screwed by their insurance before they even reached your office and adding 18% interest after 60 days on potentially unpaid medical bills by the insurance is not a fair to your patients and it's a trait of a lending not medical practice. Asking a non-attorney to sign a legal document, demanding use of Arbitration as a condition to see you for second opinion is twisting my hand and I really question the good intentions behind this predatory practice. I was truly looking for skilled urologist but I couldn't pass through bureaucracy I was told by your admin is ruled and created by you.

Dr. Verni was highly recommended by a gynecologist that had been helping me find a solution for extremely painful urination with spasms in the urethra. My symptoms had been active for 6 years so I have seen multiple doctors with no solution. Dr. Verni recommended a cystoscope in office which is a normal suggestion. I explained to him that I had completed this 3 years prior. It was one of the worse experiences I had ever had to the point where I almost passed out. I told him I didn’t feel comfortable doing that again unless I was put under anesthesia. He said he doesn’t do procedures like this. He didn’t care to make accommodations for me regardless of how much pain I told him I was in but saw me out the door. I explained this to the gynecologist that referred me to him. She told me that this was a procedure that could be easily done while I was put under and that she highly recommended it for my situation. Dr. Verni still disagreed after relaying my message to the nurse. It was his way… or no way. He never worked out but I did find a urologist that that knew exactly what I had which was a urethral stricture. Only 10% of urologist specialize in this area since it’s such a rare disease in women. Apparently Dr Verni never dealt with this before or he would have known better. This specialist that diagnosed me said he would have never completed a cystoscope in office for somebody that had these symptoms because it could have potentially made the symptoms worse. I have never wrote a review before but what hurt the most is that Dr Verni didn’t care to help me or stand by me to find a solution instead he pushed me out the door because I didn’t feel comfortable and at the end of the day I made the right call based on my conversation with this urethral stricture specialist. The only problem is I had to continue feeling this chronic pain for a year longer then I had too because Dr. Verni wouldn’t give me a chance and listen to the information I had to say.

I completely disagree with the negative comments I've seen. Dr. Verni is a caring professional who takes the time needed to explain his recommendations, answer questions, and his care has been exceptional during my treatment for kidney stones and a resulting persistent UTI. I highly recommend this amazing physician to everyone seeking an excellent doctor who provides his patients with the best care possible. His staff is always kind, friendly and does their job well. Ignore the negative comments you might see, I have.

I had the most horrible experience with this "Doctor's" office staff one could ever imagine. I was diagnosed with possible renal cell carcinoma and Dr. Verni was recommended to me by a colleague. I asked my primary care physician for a referral to Dr. Verni. I received the referral and make an appointment with Dr. Verni's office. My primary doctor's staff accidently sent my insurance referral to the wrong doctor. I cancelled my appointment while I straightened out the mess with my primary. I called Dr. Verni's office back to schedule my appointment, thinking because cancer was a strong possibility, they would prioritize my appointment. Dr. Verni's staff told scheduled the appointment and then asked for my date of birth. After I provided this information, she told me that there was a note in my file stating that they could not see me because I was referred to another doctor and that I needed to contact my primary doctor before I could schedule. I contacted my primary care… doctor and my insurance company and was assured by both that everything was in order. I called Dr,. Verni's office back and spoke to Jennifer and was told that they would not see me at all because I cancelled 2 appointments. This is untrue. I had spoken to Shirley who stated that she would put everything on hold until the insurance issue was resolved. Jennifer had the demeanor of a human robot and continually repeated that they would not see me and hung up on me. I called back and tried to explain that I probably had cancer and needed to see the Dr. ASAP. She stated that Dr. Verni was the one who put the not in my file that he would not see me. I was not allowed to speak to Dr. Verni to confirm whether or not this is true. Jennifer then yelled at me stating that they would just not see me and I needed to live with that. I have contacted an attorney on this matter. I urge anyone else reading this who may have had a similar experience to contact an attorney as well. This kind of behavior is uncalled for, especially for "medical professionals."

Called Verni's office to make appointment after two years, somewhat reluctant from his and his staff's bad attitude. Once again they let me down not only with a bad attitude with the added insult that my last appointment two years ago I was put into the category of non compliant. This so called DR. is one that is everyone's nightmare, stay away!!!

Staff is snooty as is the physician. He yelled at my wife (a nurse) on the phone because she was concerned that the MA did not use sterile technique when replacing my foley catheter. If you want sterile technique used, search for another urologist.

Does not take constructive criticism well when concerns about lack of using aseptic technique when spouse's foley catheter was replaced by Medical Assistant. Yelled at my wife on the phone when she raised concerns. Complete jerk.
