Curt, dismissing, rushed. 3 visits and he has never shown interest or sympathy.

If you are going to be referred to this doctor, please do not get your hopes up. You will be met with a unsympathetic, rude and rushed visit. Your concerns will not be address let alone heard. During my visit, I was cut off and even talked to in a rude manner when trying to explain my symptoms. As a pain patient with a list of health issues almost as long as the alternative treatments I have tried to avoid opiods including (chirp wheel, physical therapy, injections, chiropractic care, OTC pain relievers/patches/rubs). When explaining how nauseated I was at funeral on Sunday from the tylenol and ibuprofen, I was cut off and harshly asked, "What are you asking for?" and before I could answer he blatantly stated "I am not giving you opiods!" Then went on to claim he told me in the beginning that he would not give me opiates. Which is funny considering my first visit I told them that I do NOT want drugs. He just assumed I was a "seeker." I am substance abuse counselor. He would know… that if he would look away from his computer and actually give me 5 minutes of his undivided attention. I do have a list of health issues the main issues being dextro-scoliosis, levo-scoliosis, narrowed upper, mid and lower dorsals, narrowed disc(s) at C5, C6, C7, L2, L3, L4 & L5, broken collarbone that has shifted into my deformed neck and spine and my right hip being 7mm lower than my left. I also works as an operations manager and run my micro farm in Union and take care of my 4 year old daughter and between the missed work due to pain and numerous appointments between 3 specialists I need relief. But was told that because of my age (30) he would not treat me?!. I see both sides of this. As a professional, I see the influx of suicides since 2012 because of the CDC cracking down on doctors which then forced pain sufferers to the streets but as a patient, I see the blatant lack of care and compassion each individual with chronic pain must endure until they find a doctor that is willing to stand by their oath and treat their patients. I do not understand why this doctor chose this field but he has been burnt out and jaded by drug seekers and now assumes that everyone is just seeking drugs. If you have seen this doctor and have had the same result(s) contact the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure and file a grievance (complaint). There are also resources online like the National Pain Advocacy Center as well as many others! You can also find a study (through the latter) about suicides commited from lack of pain treatment and/or being cut off by a doctor. You can learn what the long term damage is to your brain by enduring chronic (untreated pain) but at the very least, do not be afraid and do not endure this alone. Together we really can make a difference.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Walls for over five years. There is not a better pain management doctor in this area. He quickly assesses your pain, develops a plan for approaching it and then executes. He has treated both my neck and knee and without fail has brought me immediate and long term pain relief. Dr. Walls is unique in that he actually sits down and listens to you. Dr. Walls is my hero, thank you Dr. Walls for returning my quality of life. PS he’s got the best office staff in northern KY.!

Saw Dr Walls one time. Had pages of reports and surgery scheduled for a month away. Just needed a doctor to help with pain before and after surgery. (Back surgery #2). After cutting what my family doctor was giving me in half called me in for a pill count 6 days before my surgery. Knowing I was not going to return to him I didn’t go in for it. He was so mad at me for not being able to get injections. I feel he is just after a pay check from you or your insurance no matter what you are truly going thru. Easy to get appointments because he has no patients. His bedside manner totally sucks and he is a jerk.

I was a patient of Dr Walls but couldn't follow him to his new clinic because of my insurance. I sometimes wondered why he would change my pain meds instead of increasing the dose. But he had my health as his top concern. He is an excellent doctor who understands that my chronic pain isn't going away, and he changed meds as needed so I could avoid having to take higher doses over time. Hopefully he'll be able to accept my insurance in the future.

I saw Dr. Walls for approximately 2 years. Since I was new to pain management, I allowed things to go on for awhile. Although, I NEVER abused my medications, for some reason unknown to me my medication didn't show up in my urine. I suggested hair test or blood since I KNEW I had taken them as prescribed. He suggested pain patches, which was fine with me. When I found it would take all of my disability every month to pay for them since they aren't covered on insurance, I sought other avenues. When I called to say my insurance wouldn't cover the patches, he seemed to not hear what I had to say. I attempted to call the office several times to make another appointment. Apparently, they can't tell you when you've been dropped as a patient and just hang up on you, put you on hold for hours, literally or completely ignore the fact that you're talking and then hang up. He has some positive aspects to offer but, his bedside manner and his explanations are atrocious. The first 7-9 months I saw… him, I never saw his face. He always had it aimed at his laptop. As I said, there is room for improvement.

Give him a chance, I guess.

Takes his time to listen and get to the bottom of what is causing your pain. Has done wonders for my chronic pain

I've been seeing him for years and he's always done right by me. He generally seems bored but, competent.
