Dr. Michael Thomas Watkins, MD

This doctor treated me for a toe amputation in Jan 2018. He recommended further surgery TMA and BKA without even seeing me. After my doctor friend yelled at the nurse, he came to see me with a Sharpie and marked my leg where he will do the amputation. He kept me in the hospital for 19 days for a simple Toe operation. When I asked him some tough medical questions, he threw his pen and papers on my face and stormed out of my room saying- I am asking too many questions I was about to lose my foot. Finally I got myself discharged and went to another hospital and my foot is fully cured without any further amputation ! This doctor never followed up even once in 12 months. This doctor does not have ant patience to listen to the patients and answer their questions. All he is interested is to keep on billing by ordering more procedures. Recently he had a DUI incident, where he allegedly mowed and injured 3 people.

Dr . Watkins was very rude and impolite he belittled my mother and made her feel horrible! As a professional Dr. He should have a little bit more manners and respect for his patients he is dealing with humans ! It saddens me that we cannot even feel safe in the hands of professional doctors from mgh! I hope he doesn't treat all his patient this way!

I was so pleased to be able to get an appointment with Dr. Watkins .The Nurse was very thorough and pleasant .Dr. Watkins went over my test result so that I could understand what was going on and described the best course of treatment that he would recommend.I felt very comfortable and relieved. Bonus was he had a good sense of humor . I would recommend him easily .So glad he will do my surgery.

Dr. Watkins took me as a patient five years ago. I was scheduled to have my limb amputated at another hospital in three days. He asked me to give him an opportunity to treat me because he didn't believe it needed to be amputated. I followed his course of treatment which included hyberbaric chamber and stent implants. Five years later I still have my leg. He will always be my "hero" doctor. He goes above and beyond what is expected of him. He is thorough, kind, and takes the time to explain to you what is going on. I would recommend Dr. Watkins to anyone who was looking for a vascular doctor. I have never put my trust in any doctor as I have in Dr. Watkins and he will always me my "hero" doctor.

Dr. Watkins is a very kind, caring and knowledgeable man. I am very fortunate and blessed that I am under his care.The office staff both in Boston and Waltham are very helpful and courteous.
