Dr. Michael Jude Welsch, MD

I went to this doctor unfamiliar with him and his practice. I went in for a simple visit --- mole/skin tag removal. He made me extremely uncomfortable. He constantly made judgements of me with his nurse standing to the side silently. He wrongly diagnosed by just assuming what he saw! This made me feel extremely traumatized and uncomfortable!! Especially while being pregnant! When asking him questions because of his wrong diagnosis he stated, "You are bombarding me with questions". Yes, of course I am going to ask questions if you just assume something! I never felt like this in my life with any physician. I do not recommend him AT ALL. The most important part of a visit is the experience, and this one was a horrible one. Never again going to this doctor!

I'm an RN and have been a patient of Dr Welsh for several years now. In addition to yearly skin checks he also removed a sebaceous cyst from my back and a basal cell cancer from my neck. I received excellent care and very clear verbal and written explanations of post procedure care. Great support staff as well!

No bedside manner. Rushed visit which included a few small derm issues. Also, he Didn't prep me for what to expect on skin tag removal. He just started to do it without letting me know what he was doing or what to expect, or after site care. His medical assistant was more helpful and explained post procedure care to me. I usually don't mind poor bedside manner in exchange for knowledge but I don't think I'll be seeing this particular dr again.

I went in for a wart removal on my lower leg. The scaring is 10x worse than the small wart was. The permanent scar is purple/black and it took well over six months to fully heal. I attempted to call the doctor's office once because I was concerned that the result of having a wart removed via cryotherapy resulted in an open wound and I was told to not worry that the reason it is taking so long to heal is because the site was so far from my heart. The top of my foot was also numb for the first 4 moths after the appointment. I wouldn't let the fancy office at Chicago Skin MD fool you, the staff was rude and the doctor clearly didn't know what he was doing.
