Dr. Michael Eugene Wettstein, MD

Michael Wettstein, MD, is an interventional pain medicine specialist at Deschutes Pain Specialists, LLC, in Bend, Oregon. Dr. Wettstein has been board certified in anesthesiology and is board certified in pain medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He specializes in treatment of chronic pain with emphasis on non-opioid modalities. After earning his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1997, he completed anesthesiology residency training at Loma Linda University Medical Center in 2001. Immediately after, he and his family moved to Central Oregon where he practiced anesthesiology until 2011. He completed a multidisciplinary pain medicine fellowship at Loma Linda University Medical Center in 2019. Dr. Wettstein founded Deschutes Pain Specialists in August 2020. He utilizes a stepwise approach to the treatment of chronic pain. His treatment strategies include consultation with physical therapy, chiropractics and pain psychologists.
