Michael L. Yee, MD

Michael Lenn Yee, MD, is Director, Psycho-Oncology and Associate Clerkship Director, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is also Assistant Clinical Professor, Psychiatry at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Yee specializes in Psycho-oncology, consult-liaison psychiatry, psychiatric issues in palliative care, general adult psychiatry, medical student education in psychiatry, psychotherapy in patients with medical illness and mindfulness-based psychotherapies.After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in biology from the University of Rochester in 2011, Dr. Yee earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Chicago in 2015. He then completed his adult psychiatry residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2019, followed by a consult-liaison psychiatry fellowship at New York University in 2020.Dr. Yee’s research focuses on quality improvement and analysis of integrated care models. He has shared his work through several peer-reviewed publications and poster presentations.Dr. Yee is board certified in Consult-Liaison Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a member of the Association for Academic Psychiatry (AAP), the Academy for Consult Liaison Psychiatry (ACLP) and the American Psychosocial Oncology Society (APOS).
