Dr. Michael San Yu, MD

Dr. Yu is very patient and takes time to know all his patients. As first time parents, everything can seem overwhelming and intimidating. Dr. Yu is extremely professional, caring and patient.I come with all my questions and he take the time to listen to them and answer all of them. I have always received a return phone call within 1 hour and rarely have had to wait more than 15 minutes after arriving for an appointment. I have called with a sick kid and he is always available to see me the same day - even on Saturdays! Dr. Yu is very genuine and I can tell he has a passion for his profession. I will, and have, recommended him to many friends and family. I am very fortunate to have found him as our pediatrician.

Saw this doctor couple of times. Both times Dr. Yu only spent 5 minutes with my child. He seemed to think that being ill is no big deal. As moms are concerned, I believe it is important to get all questions answered and not feel dismissed. Anyways. Nice, courteous staff, but definitely changing doctor.

This doctor does not respect the opinions of the parent when it comes to making health decisions for the child. As a parent, I have the RIGHT and responsibility to accept or deny treatment that I feel uncomfortable with. As a doctor, your job is to advise and explain. I feel that this doctor when faced with opinions that oppose his, instead of respecting my decision, he makes me feel stupid. Also, he tries to force procedures on my daughter that were even deemed not routine by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Yes, I do my research. I will never recommend him to any parent who is conscientious and involved with their children's care.

Dr Yu is the most caring doctor I have ever met and I feel fortunate that he is my children's' doctor. He goes above and beyond the call of duty with his attentiveness and caring toward his patients. He is extremely knowledgable and well respected by his peers. I find it hard to believe that I could trust any other doctor with the well being of my children.

We have 3 children under 11 years of age and we have been going to Dr Yu for 7 years. We are extremely happy with Dr Yu's (both the fathers and son). Excellent with kids and great "bedside" manner" with children and the parents. Highly recommended.

Dr. Michael Yu is an outstanding doctor. He is consistently available to answer questions or concerns and takes time to explain the situation at a level that I understand. I appreciate being able to bring my son into the office when there is a situation that needs his immediate attention. I feel that my son is in the best hands with Dr. Michael Yu!

Dr.Yu is by far the best Pediatrician in OC. When looking for a Pediatrician for my son I wanted someone who would continually see my son. I didn't want him to be passed around the office to other Dr.'s. I'm so glad I went with Dr. Yu! Especially since I had no idea that my son had a congenital heart defect at birth and would need open heart surgery and a lot of follow-up care. Dr. Yu returns my calls promptly, is easily accessible and has amazing bed side manner. I feel I can talk to him about anything. My husband who is a Dr. as well was so impressed with him he referred his colleagues to Dr. Yu. There is no bigger compliment.

My kids love Dr Mike, he always calls you back and is great about getting us in when needed. He's the best!
