They bill for services they never provide

It's no surprise that Z Urology has an aggregate average review of less than 3 stars (2.95, to be exact). I know, I should have looked at the reviews BEFORE any office visits. As we live, so we learn. I've been to Z Urology several times in the past for prostate exams as part of my yearly wellness checkups. Each time I've called my insurance company before-hand and they've verified that the visits were covered "100%, deductible waived". When I've made my appointments and when I've checked in to the office, I was upfront that I ONLY wanted what was covered 100% by insurance (I have no issues in that area so I need only the basics). A month or so after EVERY visit I've received bills from them for anywhere between $71.00 and $380.00. While they've eventually fixed each one, it was a waste of my time to get them to do so. Fast-forward to today ... I checked in and had more paperwork to fill out - one document asked me to waive my HIPPA rights (what?!?), the other was to allow them to keep… my credit card on file to automatically pay for whatever insurance wouldn't cover (no way - see above). I signed neither form. After I was told that my insurance would NOT cover the exam, I left. I then called my insurance company who verified that the exam IS covered "100%, deductible waived". The insurance rep then called Z Urology to see if he could sort it out. When he came back, his first words were "Oh my god, I have NEVER been so insulted by a doctor's office before. She was the rudest person I've ever spoken with!" He then told me he'd explained to her that the exam should be no charge to me - again, 100% covered, deductible waived. So, I went back. The woman at the front desk, her name is Soli, told me that SHE was the one that spoke with my insurance representative. That was a bit of a surprise. Anyways, she told me that, while the exam would be covered, I'd still have to pay money. How much? She said it would depend. Depend on what? A lot of things, and that I'd have to at least pay $35.00 for the visit. She then started hammering me that I still owed $71.00 from my last visit - the visit that was covered 100%!!! I left without having the exam performed. I wasted two hours of my life with only insults and frustration to show for it. I'm currently looking for a new urologist office.

I research EVERYTHING to a fault before I trust ANYONE! That being said Dr Zahalsky is the only Dr that I could see regarding Peronies disease that had something promising. I do in fact have it and he did tell me about his treatments with stem cells. He also checked my prostrate and found a small abnormality and needed a PSA blood test. So a few days go by and I see the reviews here again and thought maybe he did kind of sound sales picthy about his treatment. So I go back for my follow up expecting him to get me to do his treatment and possibly try and order a biopsy of my prostrate...Big bucks right? To my surprise he said he could do maybe one injection but honestly it would probably be best for me to not do anything right now as Im very functional.. I thought for sure from what I read here that hed try and make $$ from me. I always check reviews. I also read his papers and all his credentials on the net. Even read his twitter page for an hour. It just didnt add… up. Im glad I went. his staff was great and he is VERY passionate about his work.. Hes also someone that has to give people bad news when they may not want to hear it. This was MY experience. I didnt the exact news I wanted to hear, but thats not on him. Straight up honest Dr who cares about his patients and the right thing to do for them.. EL

HE SHOULD BETTER STAY DOING TV, BECAUSE AS A DOCTOR IS SO CRAP. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR NOT EVEN MY WORST ENEMY

TO THE POINT THIS DOCTOR HAS ADMITTED ON THE WITNESS STAND THAT HE HATES ANSWERING PATIENTS QUESTIONS!!!!! HE ONLY LOVES MONEY!! HE SHOULD CHANGE HIS NAME TO GOLDFINGER!! HE HAS SETTLED 3 MALPRACTICE LAWSUITS USING NON DISCLOSURE AGREEMENTS!!! THERE IS A SUIT ON ITS WAY!!! !

DOCTOR IS ALWAYS IN A HURRY TO EVEN PRETEND TO BE A GOOD UROLOGIST !!!!

NEEDS TO GET A BETTER EDUCATION AND STOP BEING A SALESMAN I WOULD RATHER DIE THAN GO THROUGH WHAT HE PUT ME THROUGH !!!!!

THIS DOCTOR IS A SCAR ON THE MEDICAL PROFESSION HAS GREAT CREDENTIALS THEY ARE NOT MERITED
