Dr. Michel Matouk, MD

Dr. Matouk is an excellent surgeon. He calmed my fears, and made me feel very special and important. He took the time to explain what he needed to do, how he would accomplish the procedure, and if there was more than one option. On the day of surgery, from the time I walked into the office till I left, I was treated as if I was the only patient. (which I was not) His staff is very exceptional. They were always attentive to my needs. They anticipated concerns before I became aware of the situation. After I left the office, my nurse, contacted me twice that afternoon, to make sure I was feeling alright. I am grateful, that 4 hours after the surgery, I had no pain. I am extremely grateful, and comfortable with all the decisions that were made concerning my health. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Matouk and his Staff.

It is seldom when a patient walks out of a Dentist office with a smile and feeling no hesitation about coming back again. That was me!! I went to this Dr. out-of-network and was drawn in by the newer looking equipment and professed capabilities of surgeon. Was one of the biggest regrets of my life. My outcome was slanted upper jaw among other issues. I ended up going to another surgeon, this time in-network, 2 years later after my orthodontist recommended it citing slant was surgical not fixable with braces.

Although oral surgery and implants can be quite painful and frightening, Dr. Matouk and his wonderful professional staff made the experience fairly comfortable with excellent recovery results. He is a physician who insists on adequate healing time prior to completing the implants so that the outcome of his excellent work is not compromised. Thank you.

I underwent lefort 1 3-piece upper jaw surgery only with out-of-network surgeon Michel Matouk in mid-2017. Among all the other issues, as a result I now have a slanted upper jaw where one cheek sits a little higher, teeth also don't meet as much on left without applying pressure causing my face to look deformed. See pictures on my google page or look me up on sites like youtube, etc... since this review may not show them. I use to have an open bite so I know how my molars connected prior to surgery and now how they are. My upper jaw angles upward towards the left and teeth do no align with my upper lip as I was consulted. I should not be getting advice from others to get veneers or angle my lower jaw which is fine into a slanted position in order for my teeth to meet on left. I am posting progress updates monthly to educate others thinking about or going through this procedure. I also am nervous now when going to even get a cleaning. I wanted to wait until surgeon said his part… was done before posting my review and with my outcome, i cannot in good conscience recommend others. I included before and after pictures of my face in this review and under my profiles. Before I could atleast close my mouth to hide my open bite but now I wear my hair covering left side of my face to cover the post surgery skeletal jaw slant.

Have visited Dr. Matouk's office several times over the past few years. He is an excellent physician and listens to your concerns. He tries to cause you little pain when possible and follows up to make sure everything is going well. The office staff is also cheerful and caring. This is a friendly atmosphere and highly recommend by me.

I think he is a good dentist. First appointment he was informative and answered my questions well. However on the follow up visit he couldn't care less as his job was done.

Dr. Matouk pressured me into my jaw surgery. He did not verbally disclose the common risk of permanent numbness or TMJ. It's been over 10yrs and my entire lower jaw is numb and I have painful TMJ. Do not recommend at all.

Dr. Matouk did not take any time explaining what my procedure was going to be nor the risks/benefits. Not only that, but I had to have my surgery redone a month later because of complications. I would not recommend this surgeon.
