Dr. Michele Jacqueline Alkalay, MD

She is excellent! My son has ALWAYS had struggles with eating and we could never figure out why. We finally got answers when we went to Dr. Alkalay. All of his weird symptoms finally made sense. She listens and genuinely cares. Her number one priority is figuring out what exactly is going on and how to fix it. I wish we would have found her years ago.

I took my son to several doctors and Dr Alkalay was the only one who finally figured out his issue. She has been very calm and patient with us, especially since we came to her very frustrated and upset since we didn’t know what was wrong. She is wonderful! We are blessed to have found her.

We have been to many doctors for my son’s condition and Dr. Alkalay was the first one who asked the right questions and helped us figure out what was wrong.

Dr. Alkalay was an okay doctor, I've had my fair share of doctors because I have many medical issues and the one thing I hate doctors doing is giving up on me, and she gave up on me after 2 months. She had no explanation as to why my barium swallow test took 6 hours. I would think thats a concern. Well one thing she did do right is send me to a cardiologist of course we had a terrible experience because I have never had luck with doctors at children's medical center Dallas. So we found a specialist in private practice who specializes in POTS (Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. We found out theres many different types of POTS and some can affect the digestive system. I am still in the process of getting a diagnoses but that could be one big cause to my issues. Another thing is my severe adhesions. They also cause my bowel to slow down because my bowel is being pulled in all sorts of directions. I am headed in to my 10th surgery in 2 years to repair the adhesions yet again. I… feel like doctors need to have a better understanding of adhesions and what they can do to the body especially the GI tract. A lot of us with adhesions go to GI docs and they all say "your normal, every things fine" yet something is terribly wrong. I think she helped in the fact she got us researching about why my heart rate could be so high yet she didn't help with my crippling Gi issues and thats a problem. she gave up on me so over all I wouldn't recommend this doctor if you have complex bowel issues.
