Dr. Michele Germain, DO

I liked this doc years ago.Then she seemed negative on women having children over a certain age I told myself to not see her again, but forgot about prior neg experiences + went again.She's thorough, but has a neg bent that something's wrong. If one is healthy with no family history, one can get a Pap smear every 3-5 yrs. I wasn't due for one but am seeing several docs for a minor issue that's still not diagnosed. She told me in the office I should be getting periods at my age after I voiced I didn't have them for a while + then they returned when I was attracted to a man. She wrote "postmenopausal" bleeding for an insurance codes, the OPPOSITE of what she had said.She prescribed redundant, unneeded tests. I'm not postmenopausal+ I wasn't bleeding, but rather having periods.I have a science, art + spiritual background you need to be a good doc. She disbelieved the man part & went back on years ago saying women in Haiti have kids in their 50s, saying they didn't have birth certificates.

My daughter went in to get a birth control device out of her arm. Waited hours. The the dr was going to cut it out without numbing the area. Didnt clean it and made THREE cuts in her arm before getting it out. Never again.

She was very down to earth, easy to talk to and did not rush me. I felt very comfortable and recommended my friends and family to her

It is very hard to connect the doctor if you are not face-to-face with her. Sending a email message, she did not answer back or leaving a message with the nurse did not help either.

I am still waiting the outcome of Dr. Germain's treatment, before I review that. The wait time was the worst - 2 1/2 hours - for a 15 minute visit. Dr. Germain was very pleasant and seemingly knowledgeable. I have a followup scheduled for a morning visit instead of afternoon. If that doesn't help with the wait time, I'm out of there.

I picked Dr. Germain as my new ob at 26 wks. Had to wait a month for first appt. Communicating with office was a total nightmare each time. I had to call around 6 times to either ask a question or get medical records transferred and with each call, I had to speak to someone who'd either laugh at my question or just say they don't know and not even think of offering to find out for me or staying silent on the phone bc they 'didn't know what to tell me' after they refused to simply call my old docs office to make sure they get my records. After so many unpleasant phone conversations, I cancelled my appointment and will go elsewhere.
