Dr. Michele Louise Riopelle, MD

Mrs. Riopelle on the night of Aug 1 2019, went into the San Ramon hospital to perform a caesarean at 12:45 am with an alcohol blood level of .30 witch is almost 5x the legal limit. With the vigilante staff of nurses who immediately contacted security after watching her stumbling and slurring her words with out a doubt saved the life of the mom and her baby.

Is nice and all, but when prescribing a new medication wouldn't tell me anything about the brand or what was needed to be done. Found out from my pharmacy that it would cause adverse effects with my other medicine. She could have caused me to be harmed as she didn't have the time to even look at my chart. Terrible doctor, do not go to her at all. Only looking at you as dollar signs.

Dr. Riopelle is knowledgable and experienced. However i wish she could share more information initially, instead of waiting for me to ask questions. Sometimes I feel rushed. Wish she's more punctural to the appointment time too.

I've been seeing Dr. Riopelle for over 17 years. She is a Doctor who asks questions, doesn't rush and listens. She cares about her patients and she knows her business. Her Team is always friendly, organized and accurate. I recommend her when ever possible.

Great Office and Friendly Staff

I had a test done it took 1 month to hear back from her after I had to call myself.

I've been a patient for a while and finally have gotten tired of how she dismisses my concerns by giving a generic response (like "oh, that's an old wives tale") and not providing her professional advice and reasoning. She must have lacked the knowledge because she was quick to push me off to other dr's when it clearly in her area of expertise (even the other dr's thought so). Last straw was when her office insisted on me paying CASH up front for an IUD insertion instead of billing my insurance. I had to check w/ my insurance myself to see if this service was covered and when I got confirmation, they didn't believe me. I'd still have to wait for reimbursement.

I have never felt so comfortable with a doctor as I have with Dr. Riopelle. She takes the time to answer questions, explains procedures, and her diagnosis, follows up and is very thorough.

I have never been so well cared for

I have had an awful experience with this office. My first appointment I brought my one year old in a stroller and several comments were made by the recptionist that made me uncomfortable about my baby being there. The doctor herself was fine, but a few months after the appointment I needed to change to a different birth control pill and was told I had to come in for another visit to do so. I left a message with the doctor, who did not get back to me, asking if we could just do it over the phone. It's not easy to get in for appointments with small children. I called again a week later and was told I had to come in because it was office policy. When I finally came back for an appointment I had my two kids with me thinking it would be a quick talk and I would walk out with my prescription. Instead I was told by the receptionist that I could not see the doctor with the kids and would have to come back. This was not a posted office policy. I let her know I thought this was… inappropriate and just needed the prescription. The doctor heard the confrontation and came out. She got upset about it and lectured me about how inappropriate it was to bring children to the doctor's office. I walked out with the prescprition but had an awful day as a result of the confrontation.
