Dr. Michele Patricia Rooney, MD

Dr. Rooney goes above and beyond. An all around highly skilled and caring physician. Always responsive to her patients needs and concerns. I’m grateful she’s my gynecologist.

I've been going to Dr. Rooney for about 3 years now. She is always very kind to me, listens and responds to the list of questions that I bring to my appointment (never rushes me), and makes sure to give a thorough explanation as to what could be going on and several solutions/options for steps going forward. She allows the patient to make the best personal decision that they are most comfortable with. It is very evident how passionate she is about the field of Gynecology and Obstetrics so I would absolutely recommend Dr. Rooney to anyone as a great Gynecologist MD. Make an appointment with her and see yourself! :)

I've been going to Dr Rooney for many years. I am always satisfied with her . She never rushes me and is always thorough.

I went to the office in Mahwah originally for another doctor, but since the office shares patients, it happened that all my appointments are with Dr. Rooney. I am supposed to have a planned c-section, and so far i am really questioning to change the office. She has been nothing but always late for appointments, quickly go through her set of questions and rush away. Any of my questions or concerns are never addressed unless i really push for it. Every prescription is a fight. Any issue (and all of them are connected with my pregnancy), she sends me to PC, dermatologist, Gastroenterologist... anyone but not her. If i push a question - i get a 5 sec answer that gives me no information whatsoever. She is also judgmental and bias, and seems to apply her personal, not professional opinions to patients.

I have been seeing Dr Rooney. I have never been so livid in my entire life. I left a message on prescription refill. Going back and forth with them. Dr. Rooney couldn't care less I was about to miss pills THREE PILLS. Took her sweet time refilling them. Finally, after going back and forth she renews them. I'm late 3 days. Body is all screwed up. I notice AGAIN. I'm not going to have enough pills till my appointment in June. So calling again for a refill and was declined because i was supposed to be there in February! I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT IN JUNE! SO yet again I'm going to be late! Dr. Rooney seems not to care that missing pills wreaks havoc ON MY BODY! So good luck if you see Dr. Rooney IMO she has ZERO concern. I will never recommend this facility.

I had a stillbirth under the care of Dr. Rooney. While I don't blame her for the terrible lose of our full term baby, the way she treated us when she gave us the bad new andifferent the day after delivery at the hospital was TERRIBLE. I believe a doctor not only needs to have knowledge but also good bedside manners. The lack of compassion on her words still hunts me 11 years later. I hope she is a better person this days and has more compassion towards her patients.

Stay away, stay away or rather run away if you are able to! I wasn't... She turned my delivery into a total nightmare.

Was told I would get test results back last Fri, never heard back from the office regarding ultra sound (now 1 week later). I feel the doctors in this practice are taking on too many new patients ... I feel like just a number when I go there for a routine yearly visit. The office is packed, the staff is frazzled....I have been going to this practice for over 15 years, and for the first time I am considering switching doctors.

I had been a patient of Dr Rooney's for several years, and I had a bad yeast infection brought upon by antibiotics taken after an appendectomy. She could not fit me in on two different days, and instead referred me to the ER. The time she spent refusing to see me could have been used to treat me. I was able to get an appt with a different GYN on the same day, and in my two appts with him, I've spent more time talking to him than I did in the several years with Rooney.

Dr. Rooney was very thorough and caring at the time of my miscarriage. She extended her already long day in order to perform my D&C, and she was not even on call at the hospital on the day of my emergency D&C. I had no complications from the surgery and a quick physical recovery thanks to Dr. Rooney.
