Dr. Michelle Chartier, DO

When I first started seeing Michelle, I thought she was great. She listened to me, made my feelings feel validated, took everything that I said into consideration, and I thought I had finally found a doctor who actually valued my opinion as a person, and made me feel like I wasn't crazy.But then, I don't know if she got too many patients on her plate, was trying to make more money, not really sure what happened, but when she went back to her previous doctor's office in Charlevoix, she definitely took a turn for the worst. I could never get a hold of her and when I sent messages via the portal (which they reccommended) i would only hear from her nurse. NEVER her. I have been through a lot of mental health challenges in the last few months and dealing with medication side effects and trying to understand where to turn next. And instead of referring me to a psychiatrist, she kept saying, "oh, let's just try this. Oh, let's just try that." WITHOUT LOOKING INTO SIDE EFFECTS AND BLACK BOX… WARNINGS. My final straw was when she was 45 minutes late to a virtual appointment and not only that she was struggling to connect with me, so instead of calling she suggests lets text... and decided to text me. Not sure why she didn't decide to just call me?! In her messages she was super short, super blunt, told me that she thinks that I should try "this" medication. I asked her for the potential side effects, and she said," just like all others- ha" And then she ended the voice call without warning. Sent in a new prescription to my pharmacy without any discussion of weaning off my medication that I'm on right now. I just felt like that was a level of unprofessionalism that's unacceptable. I have no words but utter disappointment, and I REALLY hope she treats more patients that are dealing with mental health struggles with more respect and more sympathy.

Awesome doctor, lousy staff that has attitude and dont do their jobs. Need medication you could wait weeks to get a refill waiting on her lousy ride staff to email it to pharmacy.

Dr. Chartier makes you feel very comfortable when you talk to her. She makes sure you are getting the best care. She’s a dr that cares about her patients .

After waiting for 1 month for 2 referrals Drs office called this am to talk about my referrals. 1 month! I told the assistant I got a new dr. I had called numerous times in the last month regarding these referrals always talked to someone different and the prior person didn't tell the previous person so no one would help me. The doctor laughs very loud and with the door closed and while you are waiting you could hear cackling throughout the office. Very unprofessional to say the least. Would not recommend this Dr to anyone.

Dr. Chartier and always takes times with me and just cares. It is a nice change for doctors.

I have been seeing Dr. Chartier for at least 6 years. She is one that takes time with her patients, listens to what they say and is not a pill pusher to cover an illness. She will do what is best for the patient. I highly recommend her.

The staff is friendly but the Doctor seems to laugh and play loudly in between patients which makes the wait even longer and she doesn't listen to her patients ... Then she makes no follow up for existing problems...
