Dr. Michelle Angie Covalt, MD

I had an abnormal pap and was told by this physician to ask any questions that may arise regarding the treatment protocol after receiving colposcopy results. When I asked her my questions about the procedural recommendation she was so rude/dismissive/ disrespectful in her response. I sent a follow up question (shorter in length than the first) and she didn’t respond to it at all. It was such a negative experience I changed the location/ provider of my procedure because I felt so uncomfortable with her and going back to that location for such an important procedure (LEEP). If you have an appointment with her that is even minimally invasive I encourage you to cancel it and find another provider. I do not recommend anyone get seen by her for any reason.

Covalt is horrible and practices poor hygiene when caring for patients. Prior to performing a pelvic exam on a patient that miscarried (at Northside Hospital Atlanta) she put on gloves to perform a pelvic exam and shortly afterwards, her phone dropped out her pocket. She says, "I dropped my cellphone!" Then Covalt proceeds to pick up her phone with the gloves on and performs the exam. Covalt touches the sterile swab with the gloved hand she retrieved her phone from the floor with and touches the patient in the area of interest. Covalt's bedside manner is subpar and she lacks compassion and professionalism. Prior to the exam she became irritated because she received a call. Covalt you should have not become a physician. You took an oath, if you cannot fulfill it, leave this profession. Human lives are on the line and your behavior and actions are unacceptable! May you reap what you sow.

I find it very interesting that the reviews of other soon to be mommies are just as bad as mine. I had a stillborn child at 39 weeks pregnant under the care of Michelle Covalt. I will never forget the mistreatment, disrespect, and horrible bedside manner that I received from her. I honestly wish at the time I would have been strong enough to fight for a complaint on her license at the time with how bad it was. She was the worst part of my experience and I wish she would no longer practice because obviously she is not the best at providing services to women appropriately at such a vulnerable time in their life. At my 8 week check up after I had lost my child, she was talking about the joy of her new grandchild. I couldn’t believe this and how hurtful it was. She is selfish and has no regards to anyone else but herself. It is very disappointing how she represents herself! Please do not allow her to be a part of your life at such a special time. She is literally the worst doctor I have… ever met in my entire life.

I was sent to her through KP when I was 7 months pregnant and experiencing period-like cramping. She told me it was normal, to take Tylenol and buy a belly band. She didn't do an ultrasound or any other type of scan. She just asked me questions abosut how I felt despite it being my first pregnancy. Eight hours later, I gave birth via emergency c-section and my baby almost died. She also wrote in my visit notes that I wasn't in pain... Even though I went there BECAUSE I WAS IN PAIN.

I was horrified to find out that a standard procedure to remove endrometrial polyps in the Uterus went sideways after finding out that the doctor had punctured my wife's uterus by accident. Fortunately, no lasting damage to my wife was done that we "know of." With that said, the procedure was not successful.

She wasn’t friendly and didn’t seem like she was concerned about my issue.
