Summary
I grew up in Nebraska but went to college in Massachusetts, attended medical school in North Carolina, and did my pediatric training in Texas. Having lived all over the country I can say that Seattle is the best place to be. My wonderful husband and I have together raised four amazing children. Recently I became a grandmother (my favorite title so far!). I decided to become a pediatrician for several reasons. It allows me to care for the most vulnerable and precious among us. It also stimulates me intellectually since pediatrics is not only about medicine, but the development of a human being. And, most importantly, my patients are the happiest and cutest ones in the clinic! I advocate for children at the community, state, national, and international levels in my role as chief of pediatrics at Overlake Hospital as well as through my work in various organizations that seek the best for our children.
