Down to earth, speaks in a doctor language that the patient can understand. Enjoy the candid way she deals with issues. No nonsense, yet VERY personable.

About a year ago, i was diagnosed with a tumor in my jaw by my dentist. I went to Dr. Kane for a physical and thought I could discuss this matter with her, but she could care less. She didn't ask any questions or make any suggestions. During this same visit, which was supposed to be a routine physical she never bothered to listen to my heart. I am in my fifties and I found this to be grossly negligent. At that time, her staff was awful the assistant didn't know how to take blood pressure properly. Since, she has hired a better assistant. Dr. Kane spends a lot of time discussing her son and not enough time with patients discussing their health. I have not left her practice, but I have only been back to her office once. I am in the process of looking for a doctor who genuinely cares.

I have seen Dr. Kane for the past 5+ years. At first, I liked her because she was so fast and I never even had to take off my clothes for my annual physicals. But then I was diagnosed by my dermatologist w/ a melanoma on my arm -- clearly visible to any competent M.D. doing a proper physical exam (I had seen Dr. Kane only 2 months earlier for my annual, not to mention every year prior to that, and she did not pick it up bec. she never had me take off my clothes and did not examine me). Dr. Kane is careless, in my opinion. Find anyone but her. In a routine physical appointment, she has her back to you 90% of the time while she types in her computer fields. Then, she'll talk to you for 10 mins. about her own life/issues. She does not call you back. Their online message service is a JOKE (I emailed her 3 times with a question, then emailed her medical assistant another 3 times to see if Dr. Kane was out of town/sick . . . still no response. Then I called -- takes 20 min. to get… through to anyone.) Even if you've had your annual physical, Dr. Kane refuses to prescribe anything without you coming back in w/ another co-pay, etc. I've had enough and have found a competent internist. I encourage anyone reading this to do the same. Dr. Kane is substantially sub-par, in my opinion.
