Dr. Michelle Siegel Marrinan, MD

I saw this doctor today for ear pain, dizziness, and pressure inside my ear that is only relieved by methylprednisolone, prednisone (steroids—reduce inflammation), and heat. This worsens on airplanes and car rides (30 min). In the past, I have done vestibular rehab. She gave me a pamphlet on Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), which is caused by displaced (utricle to semicircular canals) otoconia (ear crystals). It is not caused by inflammation and leads to short-term symptoms. As someone with a bachelor’s in neuroscience, I would laugh, but considering this is an intro to sensation and perception topic, it’s not funny. She also referred me to vestibular rehab, and after I told her I already went, she still handed me— you guessed it— another sheet with the referral. At the end of the day, whether she doesn’t understand basic science or doesn’t listen to her patients is immaterial. I’m getting worse daily. Terrible service, lack of communication and unresponsive after asking the Dr to call me back to discuss my test results and the ridiculously high bill I received ( after being told the testing I had was covered when it was not) I never received a call from the Dr. To make matters worse, the test was inconclusive and after further testing from a second opinion, her results were incorrect. This is a very unprofessional Dr. and inept office staff.

I never write these but I saw the unhappy review and needed to give another side. I thought Dr. Marrinan was fantastic. Really easy, great listener and got me in and out. I would definitely go back!

I was really looking forward to my first visit with Dr. Marrinan but I had to wait for an hour in the waiting room and once in the office she barely took 10 minutes. Trying to contact the office again is impossible and it seems that even emergency calls are not returned until late in the afternoons. Unfortunately she is the only ENT in the area my insurance covers...
